Life is great!

« on: May 30, 2007, 04:26:25 PM »

I feel fantastic today for the first time in six months.  :yahoo; Bummer I have to get my graft done again tomorrow but at least I am going into hospital this time feeling great with no infections.  I went for a walk this morning with my dogs and thought about how terrific all you guys have been to me the past couple of months.  My dogs both looked around at me as if to say, "Who's this woman and why is SHE taking us for a walk".  >:D You guys have been a tremendous support and this is the safest place in the world for me to come.  I really missed you all when I was in hospital and too sick to use my computer.  I went to ring RichardMel a couple of times while I was sick and didn't even have the energy to do that.  Today I am a different person and I can't believe that other people get up feeling like this every day.

Hey, I sent Susie (Gooofynina) a picture of Ronn Moss and I together.  Thought I would try and pass him off as the hubby but she didn't know who he was. ??? ???  Don't you guys watch the Bold & Beautiful over there?  I thought everyone loved Ridge Forrester.  Ah Well, I just won't ask him to come meet us in Vegas now!!!!

So to my IHD family, thank you so much again and I will let you know how the graft goes and tell you the dud one they have been using so you can stay away from it.

Lots of love, Cindy. xxxxxx :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug; :grouphug;

I know what you guys mean when you savor a good day.  They're so rare I seem to be a completely different person.  Tuesday's and Thursday's are usually the best days because they're post-Dialysis and I feel I can be myself on the radio without pushing it too much.

If you listen to their suggestions and take care of your graft it can last quite a long time without any problems.  I've been told mine is a medical miracle because I've had it for 12 years now.  It's been cleaned 3 times since I've been back on Dialysis, but it's still going strong.

That is some encouraging news for those having graft troubles.

Hi all,

Well to be honest I don't feel great.  My arm is like a football and much more painful than the first time. Seems the graft they used first up was experimental. It was called Rapidac standing for rapid access and even my tissue rejected it so when they opened it up again, it basically just slipped out. They orginally told me they were going to leave the old one in and tunnel underneath it but they put in a new one but I have been told not to use my arm at all for a week to give the tissue a chance to latch onto it.  This wont happen to many of you.  I just have atrocious veins so I will have continuing problems.  If it doesn't work this time they are going to try the leg. I am still in hospital and on inravenous antibiotics so we'll see what the next couple of days bring. I'll let you know..xxx :grouphug;
