The FDA has just released a warning regarding this drug. It states that recent studies show that heart problems can be brought on quite easily with regular useage of it.

I just read that this morning!  Joe's been on it for years (couldn't take the other oral diabetic meds due to kidney problems  :banghead;) and we've never heard anything about risk of CHF.  Now I'm wondering if his current problems weren't exacerbated by it.  I honestly don't know if he's still on it, but I'll have to find out.

thanks again, nina. i guess being so new to dialysis, and the kidney condition in the first place, (my kidneys crashed oct. '06- suddenly) i'm still adjusting to it all. i have to let go of that 'man-stuff' and learn to share my feelings more, i know, but when they are unhappy feelings i tend to hold them in, like i don't want to add to anyone's burden by dumping my stuff on them. luckily, it always passes, sooner or later. a look in the mirror usually gets me laughing again, pretty quick.

Blessings Nina, yes! It's very strange for me, I feel as if I am being 'forced' to live up to the philosophy that I have tried to teach for so long; 'live in the now, release the past, recognise each moment what a gift this life is....' Kidney disease is a formidable teacher! I just wish it had a nicer name!
