Hello. I just started dialysis March 2007. I got diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclrosis February of last year. I am on the transplant list and my main priority is staying positive at all costs. I've had gruesome dialysis stories:
-on the very first stick to my fistula, the tech infiltrated Vanessa (Vanessa is what I call my fistula). The very first time. Blood squirted everywhere. Then the next morning, I had to get a catheter because my arm swoll up like Popeye. But there were complications with that and I ended up bleeding out of my neck for a total of an hour and a half.
-then there was the time I coded in the hospital
-then there was the time last week when my catheter got infected, I got "sepsis" and ended up in the hospital for 5 days. And while I was there, they tried to do dialysis, but the nurse infiltrated Vanessa again (massive amounts of blood squirted out of my arm. Vanessa was angry!).
I came across this website and I hope to give support and be supported.
God bless to everyone.

Welcome my friend. I never had that happen to my fistula. I do however have allot of pain with it. They tried twice in my other arm but they never took. I hope you enjoy the site.

i am a 51 year old male on dialysis for 3 years now. This is my second time. My brother donated a kidney to me about 13 years ago. I found this site on another site. I had to laugh when i saw what it was called. I hope to meet people from all over to talk about dialysis.
