I've been to Amsterdam six or seven, alright eight times since starting dialysis - it's just a coincidence ... really ... um the flights are convenient from Seattle to Schipol.

I use to dialyze in the city then they closed one unit (the one I went to three different occasions: 5/96, 7/96, 7/98) before a new unit was opened so it became hard to visit a Amsterdam unit. I then dialyzed in Hilversum (10/99), followed by Utrecht (11/00, 9/03, 7/04, 8/05) now I hear there is an Amsterdam unit back online.

I hope I see full trip reports.

Susie, there are "coffee shops" galore in Amsterdam where you can walk by and smell the aroma rolling out the doors and windows.  They are far better than any Starbucks I have ever been to.  You can buy a slice of space cake or a cookie or brownie to go along with your coffee or to enjoy later.

john - I would also like a pound of "coffee" to be sent to me if you are going to take a few orders for your friends here. How much is that at $20 a gram?  I didn't realize that there was a music scene there, what is it that you plan on going to?  I would defiantly go to the Van Gogh museum if I were you.  Mushrooms before hand make it very cool indeed!

Susie - 5lbs??  Good grief woman, can I come and hang at your house?  You know that's going to be around $15K plus shipping and handling right?

donnia, as far as it not being good for you....there are not many things that I know of that are good for me these days although dairy has been temporarily been taken off the no-no list.  A little "coffee" can't be that bad. ;)

Well I dont drink "coffee", but I think I may start.   :rofl;  Did anyone see Duece Bigalow: European Gigolo?  I keep picturing him eating that brownie in the "coffee" shop.  Pretty stupid movie but that scene was funny.

It took me awhile to catch onto what in the world "coffee"was in this thread... I thought maybe Starbucks was doing funny things in Amsterdam.
