Greetings!

I'm Mongo and have worked in dialysis for 7 years now. And, yes, I work for DaVita.

I started reading this forum about 9 months ago and recently decided to join. I started reading to get more insight into some issues that my own patients may be experiencing so that I could be more effective in doing my part to minimize them.

I have also noticed a lot of negativity toward DaVita. My philosophy is that, like politics, all dialysis is local. It is the leadership at the facility level that makes or breaks a unit. So, you will probably see me defending DaVita a lot but in no way should that be interpreted as me disregarding anyone's complaints or issues with their units. I welcome all views because I'm going to be giving you mine.  :twocents;

I look forward to the give and take!  :clap;

Welcome to IHD Mongo.

Glad to see you join after lurking for 9 months, you must have enjoyed visiting enough to join. We are happy to have you here and will look forward to the view from the other side. That alone helps both the professional caregiver and the Dialysis patient.

It's great that you are interested enough to take the time to go beyond your expected scope of your job to explore the patients side of things.

I will be looking forward to your involvement and reading your input.

Hi Mongo and welcome to IHD.  It is good to hear both sides to DaVita, so go for it.  I don't think I would like dialysis even if I went to the Hilton to have it done.  Looking forward to your side of the story!

Welcome to our community.  One thing about this site is the frankness.  I really appreciate the honesty here, and if you can take it, then this is the place for you to be.
thankfully, I am in the Caribbean and have nothing whatsoever to do with Davita.  However, I do owe Davita a debt of gratitude. Our founder, Epoman, started this site because of the censorship he experienced at the Davita site.   I would not have met these wonderful people otherwise!

Welcome to the site. Epoman would have loved talking to you!  Any dialysis employee who comes here to a part of our community is welcome! We have a place for you all to talk to us and please feel free to answer our questions and comments. Sometimes, we, as patients, get so caught up in our own lives, we forget about the people who work with us.

Mongo

Likely true in most cases, but the fact that corporate does not monitor the units closely enough to root out the bad is a big deal for many here.  The reports and pics of the antics at the convention last year didn't help either.

But,  :welcomesign;  and thanks for coming here to share with us.
