Over the years I've become less and less impressed with a lot of dietary studies and advice[1] and more and more impressed with testimonials and actual examples of what works - this documentary is chock full of them!  It feels controlled and directed by the parents of people and those dealing with type 1 diabetes![2]  (as it should be)  I can't see how the American Diabetes Association can refute what you will be seeing in this movie - but I'm sure they will find a way.  I'm sure they will also find a way to refute Dr. Richard K. Bernstein is still alive at 87 year old![3] (he was photoshopped in!)

-This movie along with documentary Fat Fiction and FAT: A Documentary 2 deliver a combination of punches to much of what we have been led to believe about diet - and why.

-This is one of the few movies I've ever bought - and I'm frugal! (ok, cheap)

[1] eggs have been healthy and unhealthy over the years, I think they are healthy this week?  Also the talk Foodgate on Youtube featuring Dr. Robert Lustig UCSF pointed out the sugar industry funded over 1000 studies saying sugar is healthy (if you still believe sugar is healthy, you really need to see this movie!)

[2] A lot of the advice also applies to type 2 diabetes

[3] Dr. Bernstein is one of the few type one diabetics left from his generation!  He is also an endocrinologist who is responsible for the basal/bolus method of using insulin - and was a big force in getting blood glucose meters into the hands of patients!  Many of us consider him to be the Tom Brady of diabetes care, the General Dwight D. Eisenhower of diabetes care - and a national treasure!
