Typo - my dictionary didn't underline it because it is a word.  Not the word I intended, obviously.

I needed that laugh.

Terrible pain last 5 weeks I suspect a pinched nerve in lower back.  Appt on the 5th.  Soonest he can get me in.

I'll live, even though I don't feel like it.

I have been soo forgetful, making some of the stupidest mistakes.  Stay in bed a lot.

   :banghead;  I feel terrible for not correcting Charlies tiny spelling error, and all the confusion that caused.

If you are really, really quick, you can catch his alien rave on the chimp on LSD thread! :)

PS I wish they had Raves in space when I was young enough to go to raves.

Hi! For months I was struggling with hives and a rash. Tried everything and could not get it to go away.  Went to a couple of doctor's , no luck. The third doctor did a blood test and I was diagnosed stage 5 kidney failure.  I had no clue, kidneys problems never crossed my mind and no one in my family has had them.  I spent the first week of April in the hospital and just completed 1 month of home diaylsis. I am trying to find my way between using the cycler and manual; which is better and most effective??. The whole diet issue is driving me crazy, every list says something different.( I am not diabetic nor do I have high BP.) I am still fighting itchy skin at night, which every doctor seems to ignore. The stage 5 diagnosis is so scary but at the same time I have had people say to me " well, you don't look sick!". I am 53 but very active. I am just all over the place right now and trying to find my way.

Hello again and please check-up whether you are somehow allergic to any special food  ? I know someone who suffers from an allergy to vinegar and tomatoes and it took ages to find out, but now things go much better...
Good luck again from Kristina. :grouphug;

What about vegtables? I have seen list if do's and don't and then one today that said all fresh vegetables are fine.

Vegetables have to be treated rather carefully because of the potassium and it helps a lot to always cook vegetables in big cooking-pots with lots and lots of water, because that "bleaches out" lots of the potassium ... But ... to eat huge portions of vegetables is not recommendable, because the potassium can be a bit of a strain on the other organs of your body. Best is to eat small portions and keep a good balance.
Best wishes and good luck from Kristina. :grouphug;

Ezilu - Thanks, that is a really useful post on phosphorus.

Although WRT "Try layering your binders; take 1 before a meal and one after, another in the middle if your meal is particularly high in phosphorus.": I would say that if you need three binders per meal, you really should be looking at reducing the quantity of high phosphorus rather than taking that many binders.

Thanks! Hoping my fight might help someone else down the line if nothing else.

My Rx for 2 pills per meal and the 3rd suggested by my dietian if I'm eating something particular high in phos!

I've always been fortunate that my stomach and digestive system is quite robust.  I can eat most everything without problem and seldom ever have any acid reflux, end even those rare times I do it is because I've skipped a meal for to long.  Just a simple bite or drink of something besides water and the fire instantly goes out.

Binders, I regularly take at least 3, most often 4 at a time.  I tried 2 and 3 but noticed a rise in my labs.  Here again II must be Blessed with Good Fortune as I have yet to encounter any of the stomach or bowel problems that some people have with binders.

Wife constipates very easily. I have started giving her Miralaxx as I can easily hide it in most any drink so that she doesn't even know I've done it.  Sadly I have to as she will not admit to herself that she needs it.
