One of my friends has died.  I knew her for about 20 years or more.  I first got to know her because she lived near me and I'd see her and her kids around, say hello.  THen she had applied where I had worked for a job.  Back then she was in real dire need, her husband was an abuser and a drunk who was mean and rotten to her and the kids. She showed me her scars.  So then we worked together for a long time, IT was only after I left my job because of ESRD that I didn't see her for a while but we always kept in touch.  One night about a year ago i had to call an ambulance because I was very sick and guess who answered the call and was an EMT?  LOL It was her!  So she took my vitals and we caught up about each others lives.  I saw her occasionally after that because she was an ambulette driver driving people to dialysis so I'd sit and BS with her at dialysis.
She bought her self from the lowest low of an abusive relationship, not having enough money to buy food, using food stamps and just living that life but she took herself out of it and followed her dreams and became successful in a career I know she always wanted to do, being an EMT. She found herself a good man who she loved.  She did it by sheer determination and not letting anyone stop her.  Plus she had a lot of health problems.  But she did it.  I always admired her and was inspired by her.  But I never told her this.  I wish now I had 5 minutes with her to tell her what she meant to me and how much I will miss her.

I am sorry to hear about the loss of your friend Meadowlandsnj,  She seemed to be an amazing woman, and from what you have posted, she had overcome a very horrible life.  She is resting now and i am sure she knew in one way or another she was more than an inspiration to so many people.  Reading how she lived her life made her an inspiration to me too.  Thank you so much for sharing this with us.  God Bless....

I'm so sorry for your loss Donna. It seems so unfair sometimes. All she wanted to do is be a good citizen.

I still don't know!  Nothing was said except that it was natural causes.  I have been asking around but it seems very weird to me.......... :-\  I have a friend who can maybe find out.  Not knowing what happened is bothering me.

Thanks everyone for your kind words and support.
