There should be 3 more, if I do this right.. *G*

Congrats.  What degree RU pursuing?

It's a certification, no a degree, in Tourism and Travel Management.  Though, if I wanted to, I could take 2 years of university after I finish this course next year, and get a business degree.

It's a strange thing for me.  I look at my classmates, and they're all 20 years younger than I am.  They somehow find the time to get to class, and get their work done, but then they have jobs, and they are out partying, and playing sports.  I don't know where they find the time.  I'm lucky to get my work done and get to dialysis before I fall asleep. *L*

Congrats, Riki on your success thus far in college!
 Don't be so sure that your younger classmates who appear to be "doing more" are actually turning in quality work.   ;)

I, uh, actually did an outline for a presentation, as part of my Business Communications class.  I got a good mark on it, and I'm considering putting it together as a powerpoint presentation

Doubt I'd go on Shark Tank, cuz I think Kevin O'Leary is a dick, though, I'd go on Dragon's Den, but that's mostly cuz I have a crush on Arlene Dickison.  Something tells me that Kevin O'Leary is on Dragon's Den too, but I'd endure him for Arlene. *G*

Kevin O'Leary is my favorite shark, since he and I have much in common.  We both lack social graces, tact and diplomatic skills.   I think I would get along just fine with him.

The only good thing I can say about him is that he is an excellent photographer, and he sells his photos for charity

I thought I had  another post on this topic that was newer, but this one will work.. :thumbup;

I graduate this Friday!!

Two years of papers and presentations, guest speakers and exams.  It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun too.

I think the most fun I had was working with the ESL students.  They were studying Tourism as well, while learning or bettering their English skills.  They came on a motorcoach tour with us to the North Shore, where all the Anne of Green Gables stuff is.  We went to the Green Gables house, and because it was October, there was a haunted house at The Adventure Park.  We took pictures outside of the hotel, Dalvay by the Sea, which was used in the Road to Avonlea series for the outside shots of the Whitesands Hotel.  A lot of them came into our class to do presentations to us about their home countries and their cultures.  We also had them in for a workshop on dining etiquette that we put on for them.  Then they had a pancake breakfast as a fundraiser and used everything that we taught them.  It was really cool.  I'm kind of sad that it's all over.

The pre-graduation nerves have started, and I'm worried about all the dumb little things that could happen, like walking across the stage and tripping over something and falling flat on my face.  I'm visually impaired.  It could happen.

I still need to take the ACTA certification test.  I appear to be the only one in our class you wanted to take it.  You need to take that test in order to have CTC after your name.  Just in case you are wondering, it stands for Certified Travel Councillor.  I don't need to take it right away, so if need be, I'll wait until next year's class wants to take it.  They are a bigger class, so there may be more who wanted to take it than mine.

I'm excited, scared, nervous, relieved, and unsure of what the heck I'm going to do now, but I think it was worth it.
