the other day I went in to get an ultrasound on
my abdominal
and it shows i have no mass
but i do have gallstones
i remember a few yrs ago
when i was in the hospital
i had a burning sensation
on my right shoulder
and i told the doctor
and he said it was gallstones
strange it was never brought up before
especially over the summer when
they did the same ultrasound

Mom, Dad, Lil Sister have all had to have their gall bladders removed because of stones blocking the outlet.  Pressure and infection became so great each was hospitalized, treated for infection, then finally surgery for removal.

Fortunate for me I am fine, so far.

One of my Grandfathers died in the late 50's.  Dr was treating him for a heart condition.  Autopsy proved an infected Gall Bladder. 

I am told some people the pain can be very near the same and hard to initially tell the difference.

Any doubt check it out.  If not thoroughly convinced by your Dr then get a second opinion.

Acid reflux/gall bladder/heart problems can ALL cause pain very near the center of the chest and it can be VERY difficult to determine exactly which is the true problem.  Error on the side of caution as heart OR infected gall bladder can be fatal.

Back to that old  "When in Doubt, Check it out"!

It's the checking out part that's the problem. Even people who check out, and who have studied to check out, and get paid to check out, can overlook things.
Also certain 'things' are difficult to 'see'.

I believe the only true heart test to be an angiogram to really SEE what is going on.

Gall bladder at the very least an ultra sound to determine size/position/stones.

Merely poking and prodding a patient cannot distinguish between the two very well.

When Daughter had GERD so badly a scope down her throat very clearly let the Dr see exactly what was wrong.

About 20 years ago I was having a echo cardio gram and as the test went on there were more and more people in the room,  pushing the wand harder and harder into me.  After about 45 minutes they told me they were done.  Two days later I see my doctor who told me the hubbub during the test was the techs couldn’t find my gall bladder.  The location of the gall bladder was step one in a echo car diagram.  Then she told me the problem is that my gall bladder was full of stones and I needed to see a surgeon.  One week later I walked in to the surgeons exam room he asked what was wrong, upon hearing the story he asked is it bothering you.  I answered no.  He responded come back when it does.  I haven’t seen him since cause still no symptoms.

but any how i got some info today
i was in dialyis
and the kidney doc
told me that  the infection disease doc had put in
a referal for legacy
 i got confused there
so i called ohsu
and then i found out
the doc had put a referral
in at legacy as well
i have appt the end of the month
for ohsu
and the referal for legacy will take a
few weeks
so instead of getting
one im getting 3

Yes.  I had that happen a few years ago.  It's the WORST pain I've ever felt in my life, and I refused to leave the hospital until the gallbladder was removed, because there was no way I was going to go through that kind of pain ever again.

my sister was having
problems  with her galbladder

 but her doc didnt belive her
 my sister went on vacation with my mom
to see my aunt
and she was in pain
 came home and was going to work out
at the gym
 but a friend of hers said no
your going to the emergency
 and he called her husband to let him know
 and she was in emergency surgery
 and yes she got rid of her idiot doc
