Hi my name is June. I have had ckd for approx 36 years.  Started PD approximately 2 months ago.  Went through transplant process with a living donor but didn't end up getting transplant.

Hi June,

Welcome to IHD. I started out on PD, careful a bit about my fluids and started restricting my diet a little bit and did quite well.

3 1/2 years I did well.  Until I must have become a little not-so-careful making my Cycler set up and got a terrible infection.

Stay careful.  Wash your hands.  Use sanitizer, and always be very careful never to touch any open fitting.  You will be fine.

PD is neat in that there is NO NEEDLES!  Perfect for a needle-phobic like me.  Dwell cycles can be adjusted to fit your body.  I did manuals for over the first year, the seemingly constant interruptions to my days were a PITA so when I did switch to using a Cycler during the night I thought it was GREAT!

We have a number of members on PD.  Any specific questions just ask, you are sure to get a few replys.

Take Care,

Charlie B53

Hi, June!  I am so sorry your transplant didn't work out.  That is heartbreaking!  Are you still listed for a cadaver kidney?  I hope you find what you are looking for here.
