My wife will be starting dialysis pretty soon.  She's been on Medicare for 5-6 years.  I heard a rumor about Medicare not paying for thhe first three months of dialysis and the patient being responsible?  True or not (Maybe in the case of patients needing dialysis stat who do not yet have Medicare?)

If she is already on Medicare due to age she will not have the "30" day waiting period. 

That is my understanding anyway.
