Hi Everyone,  :D

Heph & I would really value your prayers. He has been admitted to hospital this morning, running a temperature of 38.9, he's shaking, vomiting and aching all over. His PD fluid is clear and his white cell count is normal, his urine is normal, well the protein is high, but that is normal for someone with esrf, and so far his bloods aren't revealing anything either!

 ??? Aghhh, why can't anything be simple??????????

:2thumbsup; Thank you all so much for your kind thoughts and prayers.

 :thumbdown; Unfortunately there is no change in Hephs condition yet! He is still has a temperature, is swinging between feeling hot and sweaty and cold and achy. And the doctors still aren't really sure what it is. Although his white cell count is normal they decided to treat it as an infection and started him on iv antibiotics, but Hephs arm went bright red and swollen and he started to itch so they stopped it and said they would give him oral antibiotics instead, that was at about 4pm yesterday. It's now 8am on Thursday and they still haven't had any. They are waiting for them from pharmacy!  ???  :banghead; I spoke to Heph on the phone a little while ago though and he had slept well and seems quite peaceful and content.  :clap; They removed his perm cath yesterday too, he has been on PD for over a month and still had it, so they decided it could go, so, one less tube to hit me in the face every time I go for a hug!  :cuddle; Oh yeah, and one less entry point for infection.  ::)

So there we go, we are good, just taking each moment as it comes and trying not to get overwhelmed by yet another complication.

We really appreciate you guys and all the love and support.  :grouphug;

Oh my, HLL! I sure hope you're doing okay with this. I'm glad Heph is
getting some sleep at the hospital, he needs it so desperately right now.
Let him know we are thinking of him, AND you, as well!   :grouphug;

OK. Hephs home. He discharged himself yesterday because they weren't doing anything that couldn't be done at home. All they were doing was giving him paracetamol. They have decided to treat it as an infection although they have no proof of that yet and have given him some oral antibiotics at last. They came at 5.30pm last might! He's feeling much better today, his temperature is down although he is very tired and lethargic. It's good to have him home though and he is eating really well. Always a good sign.

Thank you all for all your love, support and prayers.

I'm glad Heph's home and feeling better.  :2thumbsup; Being in familiar surroundings will help boost his spirits, and being out of the hospital means he's less likely to pick up some additional oddball germs!  Keep us posted on his progress!
