Hi Everyone
I just received my transplant in June of 2014. I am back to work and feeling good. No major complications.
My blood sugar levels became high about 2 months ago (darn that Prednisone
) and I gained 20 pounds in 3 weeks. I was down 10 pounds from my pre-surgery weight and then all of a sudden, the scale started creeping up. So now I have stabilized and not gaining any longer, but I need to get this weight off. I don't have much muscle tone due to dialysis for 5 1/2 years, 3 being PD dialysis...so my abs are shot! So I figured I needed something to gain muscle and provide cardio. The doctor recommends walking, but that simply is not cutting it. My husband and step daughter take Taekwondo, so I decided to join as well. It is kicking my butt...but in a good way
.
Does anyone else take any martial arts? TX team, said no hand to hand combat and not to over do it. Sometimes, I don't know if I am pushing myself too hard or if I am just being a wimp. Any suggestions?
