Haven't posted on here for a while, not made many cakes over the summer lol. Just the one below, a beach cake for fil, we were down in their holiday home at the time so beach fitted well! Got hubbys birthday in a few weeks, am thinking golf cake, as we'll prob go mini/crazy gold with the kids for it, and then 2 weeks later my lil boy turns 7, we're taking him a nd his 3 best friends to a pirate themed laser tag so will do a pirate cake!

Aww Sugarlump I need to go to some classes myself lol. There is a cake group near me who meet once a month and someone does a class for the rest, the idea is to share skills for free, I must try and go but its in the evening just after we put the kids to bed and by then all I wanna do is chill lol. And now its getting dark early makes me feel like its bedtime ;) hope u r well xx

Hi hope everyone is doing good! Got some pics of my latest 2 cakes, was hubbys birthday a couple weeks ago, did a golf cake (with help from my lil girl who is 3 and loves cooking!!) . Yes, I realised after that it kind of looks like a bird pattern thanks to how i positioned the grass and sand lol, but it is a golf cake lol.

2nd up s my son's 7th birthday cake which i made yesterday for his party today. We took him and his 3 best friends to pirate themed laser tag (they are now old enough, never been before), they absolutely loved it! Then brought them back to our house for pizza and cake. Made use of his playmobil pirate stuff for props etc but the cake and figures re edible. Never made people before and had a mishap when my son kicked a softball, it knocked them over and broke their legs off!!! They r ok tho, my daughter just wanted to eat the girl pirate (her!) lol

lainiepop, your cakes take me back to a fun time when my mother would decorate cakes for us kids. Your cakes look so real, like little fairytales coming to real life and calling up our childhood memories. Would be fun to be a kid again and play "tea time" and just sit and play with cakes like this all day! Or to watch how you create one, like watching an artist. Would make for a great mental escape!

These 2 were probably my most straight forward to make actually. I had one mishap with the fondant figures, my son decided to kick a soft ball across the kitchen and it hit the box they were sat in, snapping the legs off!!! Fortunately when it came to put the figures on the cake the legs needed to be shorter anyway. Still eating the cake, the bottom layer is chocolate, my fave. No more birthdays til mine now in march. Will prob make something for Christmas. Maybe I need more kids to make cakes for lol. Joke!!! My friend is having a baby girl in January may make one for her. Will see!!

Prime timer have u seen the duplo cake Lego? You out together little cakes and cupcakes out of Lego with candles and buncases too its so cute. My daughter loves doing it setting up her teatrolly and playing tea parties. Perhaps I'd have played with Lego as a girl if they'd had cake ones lol.

Very cute! Glad to see that you are still busy baking and living life! I have a terrible sweet tooth and looking at those cakes has me biting my lip! Santa is cute. Don't know why but also made me think of that little gnome you see in those travel commercials. Would be funny to see Santa and that little gnome together. Hope you have a lot of fun with your daughter's b-day party. I'm sure they think your cakes are awesome. Now I've got to hunt thru my kitchen and see what I can find to snack on. I don't have any cake but I think I might have stashed some cookies somewhere.  :cookie;

How sweet of you to do this for your little girl! She will remember your cakes for the rest of her life, I am sure. My own mother always made me special cakes and I have never forgotten.
