« on: June 22, 2014, 10:52:29 PM »

I have no other info except that he died today.
Paul wasn't as active on IHD the last couple of years, but he posted quite a bit over his first 4 years of dialysis.
He was a very kind soul. I am sad to know he's gone, and so freakin mad at this damn disease.
Here's his first post, if you'd like to "meet" him. http://ihatedialysis.com/forum/index.php?topic=10422.msg177317#msg177317
Rest in peace Paul. Love and best wishes to his wife Karen.

This is sad news indeed. I always admired his ability and desire to put politics completely aside and offer a kind word to any member who needed it. Peace and love to Karen.

I read this gentleman's intro. Seemed he had a good attitude towards life. I mean, what kind of attitude are we suppose to have when we and our loved ones are faced with the challenges of DD (damn disease)?? What else are we to do? And that's just it. We don't really have a choice but, how we deal with it and what we make of our lives may be of our choosing. Like so many others I see on this site, this gentleman Paul and his wife Karen obviously chose to make the most of things and by doing so, it continues to amaze and inspire and does actually strengthen people like myself to carry on to see what-all else that my husband and I may also be able to achieve while living with DD. Paul and Karen have done very good work here! Thank you, Paul...rest in peace.

Husband had ESRD with Type I Diabetes -Insulin Dependent.
I was his care-partner for home hemodialysis using Nxstage December 2013-July 2016.
He went back to doing in-center July 2016.
After more than 150 days of being hospitalized with complications from Diabetes, my beloved husband's heart stopped and he passed away 06-08-21. He was only 63.

I did not know him, but his story really hits home how aweful this disease is and how fragile life is. May he rest in peace.

This news makes me physically ill.  That man and I did not share one single political view, but he was always so kind to me and sent me many a nice PM.  He was always a bit special to me, but I did not know his full name so was unable to keep tabs on him.  What really upsets me is that just two days ago I was thinking about him and was wondering how I might possibly find out how he has been doing.  Now I know.

I remember when he posted about how his PD bag broked and spilled all over his brand new $3000 mattress.  LOL!

This is really upsetting.  I am so sorry.
