in world war II the people were unyielding and stead fast, strong and stood tall to fight the war.some of the men joined the service to young.my dad was 16 years old when joined the navy to fight in the war.there courage and support for the country and president when the country was at war is what made America the home of the brave and the land of the free.but i believe now today some, not all people but some ,support not have the guts to step up to the plate when the country is at war and show support for the president when right now is the time this country needs it the most.if we pull out now or try to put a time table on this war that will take a verry long time, and must be fought on there land, and over there, it will come over here, back home.this is America, stand tall,be strong this is your home and yours children's home.support the president.we are at war and they hate us because we are free and they are not.if i was young enough to join the service you can bet your bottom dollar i would be over there in this fight in a heart beat, for the country, our home and kids.i would take my sons place over there right now if they, the service would allow me to do so.

How can you compare this "war" (more like we are getting an ass kicking) and WWII? I for one, am gratefull for all of what our servicemen stand for, however, this war sucks, and our president is a complete moron (and I'm being nice to just call him that).
Here is another comparison of then and now. During Vietnam, American people were unyielding and steadfast and many of them stood united to protest against what was going on. See, this is America, home of the brave and land of the free, and we fight for what is right and we stand up for what we believe. What we don't do today is unite, and stand up in what we believe, or speak out to be heard about what we believe, and that is the fact that our president is an ass and we really haven't agreed about this thing for some time now. Do we not have time to protest against what is wrong and have our voice heard anymore? Are we relying on the voices of only a few to do the job? Times sure have changed, haven't they?
We are not comparing apples to apples here. There is always more than one road to get to the same destination. Are you to say that with all of the $$$$$ we have spent/are spending on this "war" (which is now being described as civil), we couldn't have served our country and protected it's people any other way?
Good topic though.
