I was surprised by a call from my transplant center. Apparently there are still one or two vaccinations they haven't scraped up to give me. Have you had the pneumax 13 shot? Any "gotcha's" I should be aware of? I'm doing a web search of course. I've had the pneumovax 26 shot already and thought I was good to go. Looking at internet information, I see that ESRD patients are supposed to get both, with pneumax 13 given one year after pneumax 26. I wonder what other surprises wait for me. I wish they'd just tell me everything in the beginning instead of dropping it on me out of nowhere.

I'd had a pneumonia shot some years before entering the pre-eval circus, but I'm not aware that it had any number attached to it.  Whichever vaccine I got, it was good enough for my coordinator.  I'm sorry they are making you jump through yet one more hoop.
