I was thinking about this earlier... if Davita and Fresenius are rival dialysis companies, what kind of machines do Davita units use?

Fresenius...LOL   I just moved from there to Davita.  However, Fresenius uses the machines to check your access flow rate once a month.   Davita uses an outside service to come in once a month and they hook up a little machine to your lines by your arms and it gives a much better picture as to what is going on. Much more accurate.  The guy said its like when a person listens to your lungs versus a chest x ray.
The chest x ray is much more accurate!  Interesting....

We use Gambro machines here, so I thought that maybe they used a different brand of machine.. to be honest, here and Halifax are the only places I've seen the Gambro machines.. everywhere else it was Fresenius machines.

As for the access flow machines, the 4 units in this province share two of them, and everybody gets tested every 6 weeks.  They call it a transonic machine

depends on the unit..
ive been to two davitas, and two fres, and three of them had the same exact machines. the other had a different one, and then the hospital has another different one.
