I was just diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis... on top of all the other crap...
Anyone else have it?

Doctor said that is sooo very hard to treat RA in people on dialysis, add to that my other health issues, and its nearly impossible I guess..
SOOoo what do you do? take? avoid? etc... any info would be great. Know of any sites like IHD for RA?
THank you

Dear goth , I don't know if you are aware but Laurie passed away two weeks ago . He had suffered severe RA for 30 years . The drugs he was treated with are what caused his kidney failure . After his kidneys failed he was only     prescribed 10 mg prednisone daily and Endone and Digesic for pain . I am an    expert on RA and will be happy to share more with you soon . I am not doing very well yet . Today is Fathers' Day here in Oz . Brenda

All I do know about RA is that it is a terrible disease and I feel badly for you. Hope the Dr. can get the pain under control right away.

I assume you have kidney disease. Does your nephrologist know you are taking aleve(napoxyn).?  It is very bad for kidneys and I personally wouldnt touch it if I had any kidney issues. It can destroy kidneys and if you have residual function it can finish it off. It can make you bleed also and cause GI bleeds and problems. BAD DRUG!!!!!
Seriously be careful.

Grumpy, be careful with that stuff. My dr had me taking some motrin for the pain, ended up with internal bleeding and 7 ulcers.

Thanks for all the advice.  YES Dr know that I take Aleve.  Also, as far as the kidneys go - their already gone.  NO WORKING.   Grumpy

I have had psoriatic arthritis since I was a teenager, now 58. NSAIDS destroyed my kidneys. Started taking Ebbrel injections 7 years ago. Life changing.

I dont have RA, I have Osteoarthritis, pretty much body wide. Dr. says I can take Tylenol for Arthritis and I laughed to myself. Said oh crap, 3 10 gram Norco doesnt tough the pain, why should I try Tylenol? I am glad I did tho, because it works extremely well. Of course, it will kill your liver over time, but I figure my liver should be in good shape. I dont know if it helps RA, so ask your Dr. Try the basics first I say. And that may not be right.

My wife has that.  she takes a lot of pills, expensive ones, too, but after six months of being disabled she's back at work.  I've read where if you quit dairy and wheat it goes away.
