back story- BCBS sends Ed the payments for dialysis because our local FMC is out of network. Ed then signs the checks and takes them in to the unit when we are there for PD clinic or the blood draw.  Well about 3 months ago FMC asked us to stop bringing the checks into the clinic but instead send them to Texas. They would send us stamped envelops to send the payments in. So about a month ago I filled the 3 envelops they sent us with 7 checks and there accompanying paperwork and sent the whole lot down to Texas.

Yesterday we got a letter in the mail along with a copy of everything we sent them.  Well the letter said we need those 7 checks reissued. Both Ed and I thought it was odd that they had copies but needed the checks reissued. The letter didn't say much other then they changed the way they handle checks. And that they have since changed back. They tried to get the checks reissued but since the checks were written to Ed, Ed must ask.
Ed called FMC and asked what was up with this. They LOST  :rant; all 7 checks. And now Ed has to call BCBS and have an hour or 2 phone conversation with them about reissuing 7 checks. Plus where are these LOST checks Ed has already signed them  :banghead;

What is wrong with these people?

So now you know: anything important or involving money, ALWAYS send certified mail w/ return receipt requested.

I know that doesn't help the present situation but in the future it will give you a rock solid paper trail and will put the responsibility back on THEM. This was their screw-up, they should have to rectify it themselves.

Sorry this has happened. What a pain in the :sir ken;

Desert dancer,
They lost it AFTER they received them and made copies. So certified mail would not have helped. It is all on them. And their stupidity.

Whoops, I missed that. I'm sorry.

What idiots they are. Our old property management company did the same thing with one of our rent checks; had to re-write the check. As if you don't have enough to deal with.
