I just wanted to pass this along here - our gothiclovemonkey has not been around on IHD as of late due to having painful hands. She typed out a status update on Facebook w/one finger and asked that someone pass this info along to this page. Here's hoping that her hands get back to normal ASAP!!!

I had an xray, and YAY im NOT broken!!!!
Thank goodness for that!
But, now they want to test me for Rheumetoid Arthritis. ... Im not really sure what that is, i havent had a chance to look it up and stuff, but i kind of have a hard time believe that athritis could be THAT painful... my goodness. I have some arthritis in my knees, and its very rare that it bothers me toooo much. I feel it, but not really painful as much as ... annoying? The hand pain is probably the worst pain i have felt in my life, and ive had some major surgeries that hurt less! --im sure a lot of that has to do with the fact I actually use my hands, where i didnt really sure my fatrolls HAHA

So the first week in march, i have a slew of appointments, I have a cat scan for the lymphnodes in my tummy and lungs, because they didnt look right, and for the lungs, to make sure that mass or whatever is gone. I have a sleep study too, and some other test, i think for breathing... i cant remember.
and of course bloodwork out the ying yang...
hopefully we get some answers so i can be done with the pain and all the other crap going on right now.

and hopefully it will be easy fixes!!!!

thank you :)

an update-
the RA test came back positive, so ill be seeing a dr for that now, to sort out what type and all that jazz. im still in quite a bit of pain, so i still wont be typing much, for a while. everyone is in my thoughts, and i check the site often.
soooo tired of hurting! thankfully, it seems ill have one or two days a week that it doesnt hurt at all! im so thankful for that, it lets me get caught up on everything i keep putting off due to the pain lol i cleaned through the pain yesterday, and im kind of regretting that today, because it hurts wayyyy worse now.

Sorry, Goth, I hope they're wrong about the RA. I have hand pain too, along the base of the thumb joint. I've had it ever since I started dialysis. I was still a tobacco user at that time, but eventually I quit and it helped quite a bit, although I still have the pain (just not as bad).

Hope you feel better...  :cuddle;

another update
My CT Scan came back just fine! Thank goodness!!!  Idk why they felt the need to scare me like that!!!
I still have to wait until late April to figure out whats up with my hands and the pain. They wont give me pain meds, and since i see a group of drs, rather than just one, the one i saw last seems to think im just depressed and thats why i hurt, even though tests show there is something... idk how i feel about that. i dont even really want pain meds, but im tired of hurting so badly, and i cant function when i hurt like this, and i have to do things!
waiting on results from the PFT too...
