I have just been notified that Traveller1947 (Johanne) has passed away. This comes as quite a shock as she was posting right up until Dec. 18, and participated in our Secret Santa gift exchange. She joined IHD about a year and a half ago and had been on dialysis since 2005. She was very active on the forum and always had a cheerful comment to welcome new folks or words of encouragement for other members. She will be greatly missed. Johanne lived in New York and was 65 years old. Rest in peace, dear friend.

It may sound silly, but she and I developed a friendship through playing 'Draw Something'.  We emailed each other frequently and chatted just about every day.  I knew something was wrong when she didn't play anymore.  She was a very, very sweet person.  I'm very sad on this New Year's Day.  Do you know what happened to her?

Oh, this is sad. :( I did not know Johanne well, but everytime I saw her screename I knew we would hear a wise, calming response with a kind word for all. I always thought she would be a delightful person to meet one day and I regret that I'll never get that chance now. Thank you, Johanne, for all of your thoughts that you generously shared with us here.

Yes, Johanne was a very very sweet person.  And silly as it is, our deep friendship also started with "draw" and went on to "words with friends"  ;).  I am going to miss her so much as we too talked every day, all throughout the day and many tears have already been shed for that friend. I cant even believe she's not here.  When i called her D center, all they could say was "im so sorry, she was an amazing woman" and that it was her heart.  The last I talked to her she was so tired she couldnt sit up in bed even and then the next day she didnt answer.  I cant believe that someone i never met in person could have left me with such a whole hearted deep sadness. I loved that lady, and she'll be so missed.  God Bless You Johanne, and may you rest in peace with our Lord. Until we meet again...

Thanks Bosswife....

How terribly sad!... She was SO worried about her gift not getting to Mum, and sent a second one, a beautiful decorated tin filled with Fruit Jellies... It arrived on the 17th of Dec., the day before she died!...

May her gentle soul rest in peace....

This was very sadden for me to read. I met Johanne  on IHD when she 1st started playing draw something with me. Shortly there after she invited me to play words With Friends. We ended up playing that game almost everyday and would just talk about anything and everything. She became quickly a very close and good friend of mine. She always had kind words for me or was just someone that could understand where i was coming from. I will miss her very deeply!! RIP my dear friend!!  :( :'(
