Bye Bye Twinkies, Ho Ho's and Ding Dongs

Going through life tied to a chair!

If this turns political I'm moving this thread.      :police:

I won't get into it but I love the cup cakes.  With the white squiggly mark on top.  Yummy.  I hope they sell the rights to someone here in America so we can have them again.    :-*

I read somewhere that the stoppage is only in the US, so I guess in Canada, we can still get our cupcakes.. *G*

It says they are selling the brands, so someone will likely still be making them - they just won't be Hostess anymore.

Really, though, can anyone imagine life without Twinkies around?  I don't even like them, but it's like picturing Easter without jelly beans and chocolate bunnies!

This has been in the news here for several days due to the plant here. I just bought some chocolate frosted donuts before the news broke and thought about getting the chocolate filled twinkies and passed. I'm more of the cupcake type (chocolate and orange), ding dongs, and the chocolate frosted donutes ( devils food and cake). The one bag I have left of frosted donuts is or may not last tonight or Saturday.

Now people are selling Twinkies on eBay for a lot of money, greedy idiots and idiot buyers.

I highly doubt we'll be w/o Twinkies and cup cakes for very long. My wish is that whoever buys them improves the recipes a bit so they don't taste so chemical-ly. Less preservatives and no formaldehyde would be nice!

I've never had a Hostess anything.  Ever.  Have I really been missing that much? :P

When I'm REALLY depressed there is nothing better than a Hostess Swiss Cake roll and a glass of milk.  Guess I'm going to need to find a new go-to food for my anti-depressant!

I bought a 2-pack of Hostess chocolate cupcakes earlier this year. They were my favorite in my lunchbox as a kid. I ended up throwing away the 2nd one because I thought it tasted gross! That said, I did buy a 2-pack on Friday and ate both of them for breakfast yesterday. My favorite part was always the frosting, especially if it went down the sides of the cupcake. IMO, one should always err on the side of more frosting!

To me there is like a niacin taste to the twinkies, cupcakes, ho ho's, and ding dongs. Not sure about the other Hostess products tho. Wonder Bread I never cared for tho, so won't miss that.

I heard a company in Mexico is going to start making them.  My first thought was 'a new way to smuggle drugs into America'.

Court told the company to go back into talks yesterday. Ho Ho's are choc cake and cream filling rolled up with chocolate frosting. Ding Dong's are similar but round like a hockey puck,

I went to do some grocery shopping today, I was shocked to see absolutely no Wonder Bread on the shelves. The multi grain is my absolute favorite and the only one to hold up under peanut butter!! I know they'll get it resolved, but for the first time in my life not seeing Wonder was strange....twilight zone anybody?? lol
