My name is Chuck Smith. I live in Southern California and I am 55 years old.
I retired from teaching Elementary school this past June.
I have been in Peritoneal Dialysis for a year and a half.
Waiting to get into two different Transplant programs. Not sure what to expect from this message board, but it looks interesting.

Going through life tied to a chair!

Hi Chuck, and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  This board is a place where people understand dialysis and transplants etc.  Your family cares but maybe doesn't quite understand when you are tired or wondering about your future.

Tune in often.

:welcomesign;   Welcome.   As said, the site is where we (victims of kidney disease), caregivers (family members assisting us), Nurses, Doctors, and anyone else can come and post what they want.  Please feel free to post your rants, raves, ups, downs.  Ask questions, give answers, become part of the family.  Since all of us share in a common problem, it is a good place to share your feelings, learn more, get advice, etc.  Welcome!   Grumpy

Welcome Chuck ! My maiden name was Smith - wonder if we are related ? I live in Australia but was born in the UK !
My Dad used to tell me that everyone's name used to be Smith but only the bad people had to change their name !
Good luck in your quest for a transplant .
