Low BP and Fluid Removal

I have low BP issues irrespective of the fluid removal, ie low BP even before dialysis with 3.5kg fluid gain

I have trouble in removing the fluid during dialysis bec of low BP 95/65  they would keep initial UF goal as 1000ml,
then after 2 hours UF goal would be raised to 3000ml if the BP improves.

the dialysis technician suggested increasing the conductivity using sodium modelling or profile, this way the sodium will not be removed, just the fluid alone.

they kept the UF goal as 1000ml with sodium modelling, then raised the UF goal later which nullifies the sodium
modelling.

How to remove the fluid without removing the sodium and without causing low BP?

Control your fluid intake.  Keep it below 48 ounces a day.  Then they shouldn't have to take off so much?  Just a suggestion.  Good luck with that.

Maybe you have actually gained weight? I put my dry weight up with 1 kilo last week cos my BP dropped through the floor as well, and I'll increase it with an other half, cos its still low.

To me the weight vs. BP has always been a mystery, haha 
I'v been dealing with the ups & downs of it for years.

It could be your BP meds, fluid gain, dry weight gain, etc.

Mommychick,  You and me, both.  Some days my fluid gain is under two, sometimes it's five.  Sometimes I dread dialysis because I think I'm heavy and I'm light.  Sometimes I think I'm light and I'm heavy.  I'm going to CAPD soon so I can drink a tall glass of iced tea without worrying about fluid.  I hate not being able to have a drink, and I don't mean alcohol.

I know that someone here takes a pill for that but unfortunatly, i dont know what it is.  I should have remembered it because hubby is bording that situation as well.  I know that hubs was taken off bp meds, but as you dont take them, that wouldnt be your answer, but i know there is something to raise it as well.  Hope they chime in here so as to give you some more info.

the pill is Midodrine which raises BP, but my neph asked me take full salt diet which does not help much

I would still say to raise your dry weight.

Hubby has low BP due to Sarcoid. Comes and goes. He takes 10 mg Mitodrene before treatment. This can be repeated 2-3 more times as it is short acting. One seems to last long enough for him to get the fluid off without crashing and makes it easier to cannulate him.

Whamo, not sure if you have residual renal function or not?  CAPD does not give you freedom to drink so much if you have no residual renal function.

That's right.. if you have residual function, then you can drink a little bit more, but if you don't, it doesn't matter what type of dialysis you ar I had no residual fuce on, you'll have to limit fluid.  I had no residual function while on PD, and I didn't realize until after I was on HD for a while how much extra fluid I was carrying around because it wasn't coming off
