I was on dialysis for 3 years and never had problem with erection.

Now, I suddenly have erection problem (because of low hemogrobin?); I mean it was erected but not rigid enough to do anything if you know what  I mean. This is so frustrated as I tried 2 times already and both failed.

I love sex and this is killing me.

Now, should I ask the doctor for viagra prescription or ?

I've been on PD for over 2 years and I have the opposite.  At first lost all sex drive plus the physical (erection, etc).  Now the drive is coming back, but the body still isn't cooperating.  For me Viagra didn't help.

I think this is an important quality of life issue.  Talk to your neph for ideas, and then get in to see a regular doc ASAP.  ESRD takes enough away - this is worth fighting for.

or a urologist. Heck, they probaly have free samples up the ying yang since this is their area of expertise. Things that come to mind are how is our blood pressures throughout the day and or history of diabetes or cholesterol problems?

But asking doctor first s the best step. If the pill doesn't help, then I'd definitely see a urologist.

I was also going to suggest endocrinologist for a testosterone check. SO has low testosterone, and lost all drive within the past 18 months. Went and saw the PCP for a blood test on testosterone, and voila his #'s are comparable to those in an 85 year old man. It's literally less than half of what it should be. So when he does have the urge, the erection isn't the same. Hopefully when he gets his parathyroid removes that will be one of the other things that gets fixed...

If all else fails research the company POS T VAC. They specialize in helping ED patients and it is Medicare approved as long as a doctor signs off on the RX.

theone, how is your PTH? That can mess with all areas of your body, including hormones.

First of all, I have no business posting here, but read the thread because I knew someone one end up making me laugh...

What is an erection?
   Check!

Also, I think kidney failure affects both men & women negatively in this area.  I definitely no longer have the 'drive' I had before PD.  Thankfully, I have a very understanding boyfriend!!
