I just had my new electric fireplace delivered today. It has an oak mantle and artificial stone surrounding the firebox. It has a very nice logset and artificial fire, and a digital thermostat heater. It is where my artificial wood burning stove used to be, and the stove is now in the other room. Here are some pics of the new fireplace.

Your fireplace is gorgeous!! Nothing like watching a flame whenever you're really tired or stressed! Congratulations!

Sweet!  Does it give off much heat?  I want one for my rec room downstairs eventually.  My sister is giving me an overstuffed chair-n-half and ottoman to put down there, and I'd love to be able to curl up next to warm flames and read.  I'd want it to at least feel like a real fire though!

It puts out reasonable heat for a small to medium sized room. It has a blower above the firebox to project the heat out into the room. The thermostat goes from 72 to 82 deg, or you can have the heater constantly on. I have a small two room apartment, and it will heat my whole apartment (my electric wood burning stove has the same type of heater unit, and that's all I've used for heat since I got it).

The rec room is huge, but as long as it's warm right by me, that would be good.

I have an electric fireplace insert. I live in a small townhouse-style condo. The downstairs is a little under 500 sq ft. The insert puts out good heat when it's not freezing out, and is a good addition to the heat when it is freezing out. I can then eventually turn off the heat once it's warmed up enough. I gotta say, I do like that thing!

I have one very much like that. Not quite as large tho. It throws a good amount of heat and looks so pretty when it is on. the cats just love to lay on the floor in front of it when it is on.

It looks great!  I keep looking at them at Home Depot and Lowe's.  I do think I would use it alot.  Especially because I am cold and everyone else is warm!
