I like Gerald Livelys answers above. He recognises himself in your little boy and I recognise my husband and my son. You son is intelligent and sensitive and bewildered. Most the adults at school are women and everyone is trying to make little boys his age to fit in and behave, but they want to be funny and talk before they think. Keep sticking up for your son! I did (mine turned out to be ADHD and very very smart which got him in trouble with teachers and picked on by other kids). Your boy knows his Mom and Grandma love him and believe in him which will help him in his sad bewidlered moments.

I'm so glad Eliot can move on from this teacher! As we say in the south, he can be "shut of" her for good!

I, too, wonder why some people go into teaching! Perhaps they think it will be an easy job. 

Give those boys of yours a hug from us. I was thinking of you so much over Memorial Day weekend, and thinking how fortunate that you were able to make that trip last year, as this year it could not have happened!
