Hi all of I hd.
Well Friday I went in for my fistulagram and during the preop and yes they drew it twice my k was 7.0! I'm not even sure how it happened as I don't remember eating anything hi in potassium that would of done that, so they canceled my fistulagram and admited me for high k. They gave me insolin which was enough to get the k down without having to drink that nasty crap. They kept me until today and did the fistulagram yesterday. My graft was 70 percent blocked and the v surgeon was able to open it. Yes the v surgeon does my fistulagrams because I don't let IV do them because they don't seem to be as good at it. Anyways glad my k is down and glad I'm home! I had hardly any symptems from the hi k just some dierea and a flushed like feeling that I posted about earlier, well that's what that was from but I just thought maybe I may have been coming down with something because my roomates were sick. I think they should drawl K as much as the hemoglobin because it's just as vital in my oppinion.

Well, this is good news all around, especially as you didn't have to drink "that nasty crap."  I agree...if you are a renal patient, then it should be common practice to look at K if you are having any labs done.

So glad you're home!

Whew! I'm glad that caught that!

Also glad you were able to get your fistula unblocked!  :2thumbsup;

I hope things are smooth sailing now!
