It's funny how something can be perceived so differently. A year ago I was very depressed watching the member count go up. In my mind it was like a death sentence. Each new member was someone that would be tortured to keep them alive. Well I wont go into the rest of the dark thoughts.I wish we didn't have any members, if it meant no one had ESRD. But it is real and we need this place to gather and talk. We need the comfort and the wisdom provided here. And we need this place to express feelings: the good, the bad, and the irrational.I am a glad that more people are finding this forum everyday, but I wish they didn't need to find IHD.
We'll just keep growing until it's gone. Then we can have a veterans group instead."I survived the dialysis war!"
There are 300,000 people in the US on dialysis, I don't know how many worldwide. When I see our membership increase it makes me happy that patients are finding support and knowledge. That's my perspective anyway.
