I have had that problem, mainly because techs feel that other things are more important then a patient crashing.

3 months ago when i first started hemo, i had to pretty much quit taking all of my high blood pressure meds, bc i would bottom out, and even on my off days it would still run low. but now my problem is just the opposite now my blood pressure is high and it wont come down. It stays high the entire treatment, and even gets higher toward the end, last tuesday it was up to almost 200/130 and my head hurt so bad, took all my blood pressure meds that i was suposed to be on. just curious as to whats up with that. also my pulse is fast... i used to run 60s and 70s when i was on PD, and now on  hemo i never go below 100 ever, but the end of my treatment im 130s and perfectly calm :waiting;

bleija, are you on clonidine, by chance? I had similar problems when I was on clonidine and metoprolol.

It looks like hydralazine can cause rapid heartrate, but I don't see anything about increased blood pressure. Lisinopril is pretty benign as far as side effects go, aside from increased potassium.

Maybe talk to your neph about it and ask if adding a beta blocker would be a good idea.

Sorry to hear about your crashing rerun.  The same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago, I barfed all over the place :puke;, then bp dropped and I went out. Last week I was infiltrated on Monday and was wiped out for the whole week, and then we lost power for 4 days.  It has been the most horrible 2 weeks on dialysis that I have experienced so far, but its a new week, I'm hoping for the better :rant;

ive been on hydralazine for over 2 years now and never had any issues with it, also ever since i started hemo, i been having chest pain not heart related, but different areas of my chest and back, and its shap pain when i breath. i tell the doc and he prescribes me prednisone, and while im taking it it goes away, but the last day<the lowest dose with the tapered doses> it comes back only in a different spot... it started in my shoulders each side thn my mid back on the side, and not its on my left side feels like a knife trying to saw me in half, oh and laying down is not an option, i feel like i cant breathe... i feeel like the doctor is thinking im a junkie, bc i keep coming back the last day, but its unbearable, if i could breath it wouldnt be so bad... any ideas

this doesn't sound "normal". I wouldn't care what your doc thinks. Did he check liquid in your lungs?
