Loves his allotment but too tired to dig!

Hello all!!
              My partner, Rich is a 63 year old Diabetic, had Quad heart bypass in 2001, following this he got MRSA and I nursed him at home through this and is now pretty clear most of the time.
              In 2007 was found to have end stage renal failure secondary to focal segmental glomerulonephritis. This is both Kidneys. Cannot have transplant because of vascular problems. Has been on PD at home with cycler since aug 2009. This is now not a lot of good it seems as he id no longer dialysing so well. 4 weeks ago he had fistular created in his wrist and is buzzing nicely. Due to see surgeon in 2 weeks.
               We live in Bournemouth , Dorset in the UK and I am trying to fight to have HD at home. At the moment only 2 people in Dorset have HHD so we face a 50 mile roung trip 3 x a week when he strts HD. I look forward to having lots of questions answered here and am so pleased to have found you all the relief is like taking some of the weight off my shoulders as I feel I have found someone to talk to at last!!!! :flower;

Pyelonephritis (began at 8 mos old)
Home haemo 1980-1985 (self-cannulated with 15 gauge sharps)
Cadaveric transplant 1985
New upper-arm fistula April 2008
Uldall-Cook catheter inserted May 2008
Haemo-dialysis, self care unit June 2008
(2 1/2 hours X 5 weekly)
Self-cannulated, 15 gauge blunts, buttonholes.
Living donor transplant (sister-in law Kathy) Feb. 2009
First failed kidney transplant removed Apr.  2009
Second trx doing great so far...all lab values in normal ranges

Welcome to "the family". Agreed that this is the best place for information and support. Even a spouse, the friend, or any kind of giver needs support also. I learned so much from coming her and you will too. We understand what you're going through and know just how difficult it can be. Not only physically, but emotionally as well.      Looking forward to getting to know you.
