we've been hustling to get all dh's criteria done over the last month. submitted to transplant nurse. it was supposed to be presented to the team last monday. meeting was cancelled. so now it was supposed to be done yesterday at 4 pm. nurse calls me in the morning yesterday to say she can't find stress test info and dental. can i have it faxed again? (third time). i asked her, if she was supposed to submit this a week ago, did she not know then if she had all paperwork.. :banghead;
so..got that all done again. will have to find new dentist as other would not sign off till 5 more cleanings and 2 extractions. tx nurse says all team wants to know is if there is any active infection (NO).
at any rate, i will give it till noon and then call, see if we can find out anything. dh has 2 living donors who are matched. the tx nurse did ask me if we wanted him on "the list" or just approved for living donor tx. we opted for just donor at this time. hopefully that was right.?
today is me and my twin sisters birthday. would be great gift to hear "all is a go"..
then donor has to have ekg, chest xray, 24 hr urine and possible ct scan?

it is the first week of august. its hot right now but winter will be here, trust me.
it would help maybe if dh got the tx before winter? there are always alot of "if's".

he is worn out driving back and from clinic, and i am worn out with all the other chores.
dh has the thought that when he gets tx, he will go back to work and all will be well. sure would be great to have it go like that. i don't see him being able to go back to old employer, their insurance has a 6K deductible for one thing.

there are so many variables for the future. i'm overwhelmed so i am just gonna drink my coffee and take it one day at a time. will update when i know something today.
 :grouphug; to all of you!

Take one day at a time, that is all you can do. Fingers crossed that things will work out eventually.

Hoping it works out!  Why not on the list, too?  You still don't know if all will go well with the live donors - might as well accrue wait time while you are at it.

If you've got the option I'd be tempted to get him on The List too.  I hope you hear today ... it's such an overwhelming and frustrating experience.

Also ... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

thank you poppy..
haven't heard a word all day. made 3 calls.

UPDATE: nurse just called, 4:15pm. says team wants ultrasound of kidneys due to cysts (had one each year for last 3 years, just scar tissue), so he has to have this done, and also find a dentist to clear him as well. also had her put him down for list as well as living donors.

pretty sure it will be something else after this is done.  :banghead; :banghead; :banghead;
