American Idol starts its new series tomorrow evening.
Do you like this show?
I like it when it gets at the end when talent is good.
I can't stand it in the beginning when all those people
who can't carry a tune are up there acting like they know how to sing.
Just wondered.

I like the show, a lot, even the idiots in the beginning. They bring out the best in Simon.  :clap;

It's unique in the fact it gets better & better as it goes along.

I'm excited because they actually held auditions in Minnesota this year... who knows; maybe one of the "idiots" will be someone I know?  :2thumbsup;

After missing the first two seasons (which i now regret)  i will not miss one again... I love this show, it makes me laugh how some of these people think they are the shit when they pretty much only sound like shit, lol,   it's a nice way to step out of reality for me  :P

plus, i heard Paula isnt going to be so nice this season, uh oh  ::)

I feel sorry for some of these jokers, are they for REAL??????
Do they really think they are NOT tone deaf....shame on their family and friends that encouraged their participation on national T.V.!!!
What were they thinking??????
And some of those outfits are way out there...
Oh well, maybe I am just jealous, they got on t.v. didn't they???

No kidding, Anja, some of them just look like they wanted to be on TV, they appear to know they're bad and they don't care.  But some of them make me feel bad. I feel sorry for the ones that really seem to think they are good (because their families have told them they're GREAT!) and then the judges just shred them.

Like Simon telling that kid he looked like something from the jungle with massive eyes, was that necessary?  Okay, he can't sing, but don't make fun of the way he looks.  That's just mean.

The only part of this I've ever watched is the auditions.  Some of them are like watching a train wreck - you just can't look away no matter how awful.  But I don't think the judges commenting on the singers looks is mean.  They are trying to be a star, and a large part of that is looks.  America makes pretty people popular.  How else do you explain Paris Hilton?

Love American Idol.  I live in Clay Akin country and our state has had several finalists --  Fantasia, Chris, "Plickler" -- but everyone loves Clay around here. Most of us know which house he grew up in, the YMCA he worked at, where he went to high school.  It is just fun to watch and good for a chuckle.

I like it in the beginning when the really bad people audition.  I can't help it--I like to watch it  My neice called me the other night--someone she knew from Wheeling WV auditioned for the show.  He was on last year and didn't make it, no luck again this year.  She told me he worked for the department of corrections and he got into a lot of trouble for auditioning.  Some of these people are delusional though.  But everyone wants their 15 minutes of fame, right?   :clap; :clap; :clap; :clap;

That is a good idea Angela.
I do think it is sort of cruel to make nasty remarks about one's appearance
like that.  They could just say no and let it go at that without going into
how bad one looks.  At least for the ones who are sincere in their attempts
(or appear to be anyway).  Last night Larry King had Fantasia and Taylor on
as guests.  I like them. I like Carrie also and Clay of course.

Count me in Angela!  I loooove American Idol.  I watch the whole thing too.  I can't wait until they get to the top 12.

I'm from Chicago, so everyone here made big deal about Jennifer Hudson.  Can you believe her success!  I saw Dreamgirls and she was fantastic.   It's kind of ironic that she didn't win.
