Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« on: May 23, 2011, 03:35:29 AM »

My sister, Grace Muriel (we called her by her second name, Muriel) passed away early this morning.   She had been having a difficult time.  She was pre-dialysis and had lots of other complications. We used to talk at least three times a day.  Last night, she was consoling me because I was not feeling well (probably weekend fluid overload) and told me to go and rest myself.  She was living in Barbados and was 78 years old.  Thankfully she was a believer.
I have added her pict.  My beloved Muriel.

Goofynina and Epoman - Gone But Not Forgotten

WWW
« Reply #17 on: May 24, 2011, 09:53:09 AM »

Thank you all for your kind words.
I want to share two special things with you.   1) On Sunday, my oldest sister was having her house fumigated so all the people who live there had to move out.  She sent a 23 yr old grandson to stay with my sister who lived alone.  Because of this, he was there in the wee hours of the morning (around 2.00 a.m.)when she was having difficulties.  He called his aunt who called the ambulance and went to the hospital with her.  I keep thinking "What if Gabriel was not there?  She would have gone through that alone and no one would have known anything until the help came about 9.00 a.m.!"
2)  I had called her Sunday night as I told you, but I didn't realize that she had called me before and had left a voice message.  After her passing, I was checking my cellphone and there was a message from her.  She said" P, I called because I am going to bed now, you see. I said you might call and then you would wake me.  I'll be good, okay? Thank you and have a good night."  Needless to say that message is recorded and saved!!  Every now and then, I listen to her voice again.  And the thing is, she didn't sound like someone who was so close to death.
My niece who went to the hospital with her said that she made her take the scarf off her head and the pins and comb out her hair before the ambulance came! She was clear and coherent to the end.
I want to thank my IHD family for being there for me through this.  Sam has been particularly cut up.  This was the aunt to whom she was closest.
