Hello,

My name is Heidi.  I am the Mom of two beautiful adopted kids.  I've had Lupus since the age of 19 and had kidney failure (with only a few dialysis treatments) at the age of 29.  I had chemotherapy, Prednisone treatment and Plasmapheresis about 14 years ago and my kidney's hung on until last August.  Since then, I have been on dialysis 3x a week.  Dialysis turned my whole world upside down.  Me and my kids moved from Memphis, TN to WI to live with my parents.  We thought it would be best to move (for family support) since I don't have any immediate family in TN.  Previously, I had been working full time at a large shipping company and living a normal very active life.

I am glad to find this site!  Although my family is here, it has been a bit lonely to move so far away from my friends and normal life.

Thanks for listening.
Have a great day!

Hi, Serendipity, AKA Heidi!  :waving;

We are glad you are here, too!

Hmmm. Memphis...large shipping company.....I bet I could guess.   ;D

I hope you can develop new friendships in your chilly new home.

Hi Serendipity, and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  The same thing happened to me (kind of) I lived in Sacramento, CA and worked full time when my transplant of 17 years finally gave out.  I had to move back to FREEZING Spokane, WA to be near family.  It is worth it because they help me out a lot. Or, let's just say if I really needed them they would be there for me.

Hang in there and come here often.

Welcome Heidi.  So you moved from "Elvis Town" huh?  Well you are where you need to be, with family, for the support you need!  Sorry for all you have been through.  I can only imagine how hard it has been.  IHD is here for you and ask anything you want!  You will get an answer!

Again  :welcomesign;
