I think I'm going to start making videos for future/potential PD patients. What were things you wish you know before hand or what to expect, before you started?

I kinda skipped over this at first as hubby on hemo but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  i think that would be an increadable act of kindness as i would LOVE someone (we do have quite a few) to do this with hemo as well.   :2thumbsup;   I can say thanks ahead of time if you choose to do this.  I think it's a great idea!!!

Maybe you could collect videos from people and post them in one place-like a youtube page or something. Everybody has different experiences, but a video forum with multiple perspectives would be nice. I know that when I knew dialysis was imminent, that I spent hours on youtube comparing treatments, and gathering as much information as I could. I didn't find much. Most of what I learned, I learned right here.

tbarrett2533, I think that is a brilliant idea. I know a couple of times when my husband was visiting the unite he was asked if he minded showing new patients his cath and to explain how it worked. It makes it less scary for people to see these things and listen to people explain away what happens.

I think you should mention something about drain pain.  I get the feeling that many people suffer from it and the nurses at the clinic totally don't understand how uncomfortable it is and down play it.
