I do not know all the infrmation that went down since I wasn't there. I do not know if shooting him was unavoidable. As far as reprocussions, that is something that we can not worry to much about or we would never get anything done in any part of life. We can not be scarred and huddle in our corners all our life, people need to stand up for themselves for something. "That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it!" Dennis Miller

I was relieved to see that the US finally found him...but then all these people on facebook are posting bible passages making sound like if you are happy that Bin Laden is dead then you aren't a good Christian, don't deserve mercy, and even mentioning Bin Laden is made in God's image.....what do you folks think about this? Can someone explain it to me?

It's not the Christian's, Catholic's, or other faith's that scare me, it's the over zelous people behind the faith abusing the teachings in their own way.

Special Ops took him out, and the military has fulfilled a Clinton-era job finally.

I just get disgusted when crowds of people start chanting, "USA! USA! USA!" Whether outside the White House or at Yankee Stadium, it is just myopic and sophmoric.

1) Someone else will merely continue Al-Quaeda buisiness as usual, if not a short duration of increased intensity.
2) It's not as if we are doing ourselves any favors in the Muslim world as of late.
3) I'm tired of flag waving "'mericans" sucking on high fructose corn syrup singing our national anthem to celebrate anyone's death.

The people celebrating last night news are probably the same people who wept on 9-11.   :thumbup;  I'm not for random killing, but it seemed like we stopped worrying about this man who put our country in fear, lead so many to fear and hate Muslims, but went on to live 10 more years that the victims that he planned to murder.  Yes, there will be ones to replace him.  But do we continue to live in constant fear or do we do all we can to reclaim our lives?  I appreciate all the military that have fighting for us.

Rsudock, there are fanatics in every religion or denomination.  It bothers me that these people "judge" me because they think I am not their type of good Christian.  Chris's post was perfect.
It's not the Christian's, Catholic's, or other faith's that scare me, it's the over zelous people behind the faith abusing the teachings in their own way.
I think it is ok for Americans to celebrate this long awaited day.  We need something positive to happen -- for years there hasn't been much to celebrate.

This just opens the tangents of WHY we were attacked that day and previous days.

I just don't see any death as something positive to celebrate with a nationalist type of fervor. His kind aren't of a finite number. As long as contempt and desire to usurp all before them into something "pure" or "righteous" flows in one person's veins, their kind (regardless of faith affiliation or secular motivation) will keep propogating and spreading their disease.

The one which has become an America v. UK battle zone? Really?  It may have been when you posted this but I've been reading it for the last few minutes and it sort of sucks a bit now ... I'm assuming it was begun in light-hearted jest and the Silly People have come along and ruined it.  Bah! to the Silly People!

The repercussions was the first thought that ran through my head, especially when I saw the American's celebrating and it reminded me of the images of Middle Eastern folk celebrating when the attacks occured in America.

I think it is ok for Americans to celebrate this long awaited day.  We need something positive to happen -- for years there hasn't been much to celebrate.
Absolutely.  However, we all (regardless of where we are in the world) need to be aware that there may well be something bad brewing because of this.  Then again, there might not.  Like you say, people can't live in fear.  Life has to go on and all that jazz.

It probably doesn't matter if it is literally true, people feel like we won.

I can't view killing that POS outside the context of what happened on 9/11. http://youtu.be/X_kmfzwc5Pw
I think the celebratory reaction has been genuine and understandable.

I absolutely agree-I think the national celebration of this POS 's death has been long awaited and is much appreciated, there is something to be said for justice.

We win justice quickest by rendering justice to the other party. Mohandas Gandhi

And make no mistake, this celebrating is a grief response. We lost a nation that day. A nation, a notion of who we are was gone in ashes.

True Okarol, My family was devastated by Sept. 11, as were so many other families, it was so personal to so many of us. Bin Laden was so gleeful over hurting us so badly- but what he did not realize is how it would make us stronger in the end. The world is a better place without him, Well done Obama! I may not agree with all his policy, but I sure agreed with this decision, and I am proud that he had the balls to order this.

(I just cant help but feeling pride for that American bullet that got put into his head by an American.)
