And she's coming home to torrential rain, cool breezes and thunderstorms ... haha.  She missed summer - it happened yesterday.

Oh, my! I just love seeing these pickies and following your American adventures, Sugar. :yahoo; :yahoo; :yahoo;

Shame I did not know you would be in the area as I am quite close in Chicago's shy and oft-maligned cousin, Milwaukee. Next time!  :2thumbsup;

Uh, best thing that's happened to me today? Not exactly a competitive field as it's only 10:30 AM. Perhaps I can report back in a few hours. Ice cream social today at my younger son's summer program, and of course the older one wants in because it's ice cream, so he'll attend as well. Gwyn got to work early so he could be there for the start. I have to nip round the corner for a half gallon of ice cream from the shops. I promised to bring strawberry.

Best thing, made it home from the airport, but what a rough start of a day to get there and home. Scenic route day today to and from airport. Unfortunately I could not spend time with Sugarlump at the airport while she waited for flight.

Gah, no! Please don't apologise, Chris! I've been on a ride that is only just now slowing down, so I probably would have just seen an invitation to Chicago as more stress last week.

If Sugar had been here this week, however, I would have just invited myself! (Be warned, I do that. Ask Aleta! :rofl;)

Oh, and I know this is in another thread but I am too lazy to find it - I would join you on your horseback ride adventure, Chris. I love horses and have not been on one since.... hmmmm.... well, I am gong to bet our one-year anniversary, so that would be 10 years. Just promise that we'll go on a tour that lets you do more than walk, because I cannot be bothered with those hyper-vigilant, please-don't-sue-us places that will flip out at a canter.

So, if you decide you'd rather not go it alone, let me know. I'm around, at least for another year....

My son and I went on a "nature walk" *the condensed version?*  we walked around our town, to the park, around the park, collecting random earth dropplings along the way, had a picnic, complete with ants 0o which my son is afraid of! lol and then we went swimming for a little over 2 hours. Great day, excersize, nature, my son, swimming, food... cant get much better can it?
:)
pic is of our random earth droppings...

Let me know when your back in Chicago and we will. The carriage ride pick up is right next to Northwestern at Michigan and Huron. They start to just wait for people after 5 or 6, but can be scheduled to be there at a certai time if given advanced notice.

GLM - Not sure what I am looking at, but pretty sure it is not my definition of earth droppings. Mine are more related to birds  :rofl;

SL -63 is not surprising for high altitudes. I admit usually I've seen between -40 and -50, but -63 is not too out of the ordinary. Sorry you hit turbulence - it's to be expected in the summer over that part of the world) and you got through it just fine so it's all good.

I showed up for my monthly blood draw and was chagrined to see that a new phlebotomist was being trained.  Luckily for me, she didn't practice on me.
