My husband had a heart attack and his kidneys shut down in November. We spent Thanksgiving in the hospital - something I would not recommend for anyone. I know in my mind that I am not alone, but can't help feeling that way often. THIS SUCKS!! I know that you understand.

How is he doing? Which dialysis modality is he using?
Welcome to IHD. We have LOADS of caregivers who contribute to this site, and I know they will be very supportive.

I live in Oak Harbor on Whidbey Island. My husband is still feeling weak and tired. The doc has not yet been able to get him stabilized with meds, etc. That part is driving me crazy, because the dosages keep changing and there seems to be some :yahoo;what of a communication gap between the doctor's office and the pharmacy. I worry that we will run out of drugs at times.
Just started using the fistula for dialysis in center. Not sure what you call that type of dialysis. We are just trying to get through each day and I am trying to work as much as I can. It is definitely a challenge to juggle everything, but we need my insurance, of course!
Thank you for being here. It is a comfort to know that there are others to ask questions and just get moral support from. Much appreciated!!

If your husband has a fistula, then he is doing hemodialysis.
It does take time to find the right meds and the right dosages; it can try your patience. But it is important to build a treatment plan that works for him.
Whidby Island...isn't that off the coast of NW Wash near Seattle? Or am I mistaken?
