my adorable crazy cat smitty has discovered my husband's fistula. to his delight it purrs, especially after dialysis. every dialysis day my husband comes home and lays down for a little while. like clockwork smitty comes in and settles himself in the bend of his arm with his head or paws on his fistula. his face literally pulls back in a smile and they take a nap together. how freakin cute is that?? every time he snuggles with my husband it is on his left side where is fistula is. i think he's convinced he's his mommy.

That is so cute! I guess it is comforting to kitty to hear that buzzing noise. Sorta like when a fan runs at night time for me. Sounds like they are best buds and kitty is a good nurse lol. Pictures?

My cat was truly annoyed that I quit "purring" when my graft clotted during my transplant!

Oh, that is so adorable! I wish my cats did that ... in fact I may officially introduce my Mogglie to Blokey's left arm tonight when he gets in from dialysis!

My Celeste did that too. Not so much these days, but that's because I am sleeping a little differently now post transplant, but before I would stretch my fistula arm out and she would snuggle in and put her head down on the fistula. Definitely think the vibration reminds them of kitten time when their mother would purr at them. It's so sweet and trusting and gorgeous. Sometimes I'd feel her purring back and that would make me smile happily too. Always the best when she would go to sleep snuggled there (nice until my arm got uncomfy and then I would feel guilty wanting to move!! lol)

When Blokey arrived home from dialysis last night I mentioned this to him and he declined the offer of our Mog being allowed to experience the thrill. I'm not surprised; our Mog is very young and very generous with his claws and teeth when he gets excited. Maybe we'll let Tabatha have a go; she's old and feeble.

Wow!!! Its amazing! I got to 'feel' a mature fistula from a long term patient at the dialysis clinic, and the first thing I said to him was that it was like a cat purring! Yes, I am like a kid in a candy shop and mature fistulas amaze me!
Poppy control that Mog of yours...we need your husbands' fistula to stay where it is and Mog can't have it!!

wow the vast majority of women who feel my thrill freak out!!! Of course maybe that's got more to do with me than the fistula!!
