I was missing my little point and shoot camera. I looked everywhere. I just about gave up ever finding it. About a month later I found it on a shelf in a vase, in the dining room. I still don't know how it got there.  ???

I lost a tape of what I consider to be the best ever film when I moved house in 2006. Anima — Symphonie phantastique was exhibited at the 2001 Cannes Film Festival but never published. So I couldn't buy a DVD or even a tape.

I found it last month when I wasn't looking for it.

My husband lost two dress shirts.  How do you lose two dress shirts???  He had seven, and then he had five.  I know because I am the one who washes and irons them, so I keep track of when he's about to run out of clean shirts.  I have no idea where they went and we have never seen them again.  Seriously, how does a man lose two dress shirts??????

um.. I had a cat disappear and return 7 months later....

I believe there is a ghost in this house that likes to play games with us.. I have two cases in point..

When I was a teenager, I had this one pair of jeans that I loved, and I'm not a clothes/fashiony type person.  I put them in the wash one day, and they disappeared.  Mom and I searched the house upside down.  We never found them.  One day, about a year or so later, Mom went into her room to get something, and they were sitting on a pile of clothes.  Mom was sure they were not there before.  I think the ghost took them and hid them, either that, or they were abducted by aliens.

About 6 months ago, Dad was watching something on the computer.  It was in 3d, and he didn't have glasses, so he was finding it hard to watch.  I remembered that with my Monsters VS Aliens dvd, I got another dvd of a 3d movie, called Bob's Big Break, and it came with 4 pairs of 3d glasses.  I went into my room, picked up the case and opened it, and it was empty.  I was livid, because I thought that my bro had taken them without asking, but when I asked him about it, he swore that he didn't take it.  I had no idea who had been in my room and could have taken it.  As far as I know, there was nobody.  One day, a few weeks ago, Mom was looking for something on my desk, and she knocked a few movies down behind it, one of them being the case for Bob's Big Break.  She bent down to pick them up.  When she picked that one up, she asked me, "weren't you looking for this one?"  I said, "yeah, but the case is empty."  She opened it, and she said, "no, it isn't."  The movie and the 4 pairs of glasses were back in it.  Three of the pairs hadn't even been pulled apart yet, as they were cheaply made and had perforated edges, so you had to pull them apart before you could use them.  I'd pulled the first pair off just to look at them when I first got the movie.

I know there is a ghost in this house, so it would not surprise me if she did things, just to keep us on our toes.  I'm gonna miss her when we move

It's British slang as well MM ... you must have heard it when you lived over here?!

Now, would the naughty person who hid my pepper pot thingy please put it back where it belongs?  Thanks. It's been missing since the weekend and Blokey is annoyed that his food has been pepper-less.  You can't miss it - it's red, blue, green and yellow and it has little rabbit ears.  It's not on top of the fridge, nor in the cupboard.  It's not behind the washing machine or next to the kettle.  It's definitely not in the freezer, the dishwasher or the oven.  It's not even in the microwave. It's certainly not on the window sill. I don't think the cats have hidden it.

If I believed in ghosts I would be thinking we had one, but I don't so I can only assume it's in the last place I'll be looking.

Going through life tied to a chair!

« Reply #15 on: January 13, 2011, 04:03:52 PM »

I lost my cell phone once and tore apart the house and car and it was not to be found.  So, I cancelled my phone number and went a bought a new phone.  I thought I left it somewhere.

I sold my car and a year later they called me.  As they were installing a new sound system they found my cell phone under a seat.

It was still on with my name on the front.

An exboyfriend of mine had these sunglasses that he absolutely loved.  One day, he lost them.  He searched our apartment upside down, he questioned our friends, thinking that he may have left them at their houses, but he never found them.  In the end, he figured that they must have fell out of his pocket or something and he'd never see them again.  About a month later, after a walk, he decided he wanted a drink that night, so we went to the liquor store, which was pretty much around the corner from where we lived.  We were going through the check out, and he just happened to look, and his sunglasses were sitting on top of the register.  The clerk said that they'd been there about a month, and she figured whoever lost them would come looking for them.  He has a habit of taking them off and setting them down, so I'm figuring that he had been there a month before, set them on the counter while paying for his purchase, and forgot to pick them up.

I used to wear socks. Every now & then one would go missing.

Then about a year ago my feet got so swollen with edema that I could only get my shoes on if I left my socks off.

I haven't worn socks ever since, so I never lose an odd sock now.  :2thumbsup;

I found it this morning whilst putting the supermarket shop away.  It had been knocked to the back of the cupboard, although I'm sure I'd looked all through the cupboard.  It was a bit disappointing that it chose to reappear so quickly ... it obviously got bored with playing Hide & Seek.  Of course, we had just bought some more pepper ... tsk.
