Good Evening!...Where to begin.  As my name impiies, I am one sick Bob.  Been dealing with quite a few health issues over the past 30 years or so, and just recently back in May, my world of dialysis. My wife and I have been doing a ton of reading over the years about ESRD and we had a plan before needing dialysis.  It was the smartest thing we could ever have done.  We are now on Home_Hemo and it has been testing our every resolve.  I guess I can go into that in the HH section.
Anyway...My wife Monica emailed this link and thought it was a great idea, so I decided to join up.  I am sure that she will follow suit soon.

Few things really worth doing are easy.  Home hemo is not easy, but it gives you the opportunity for more frequent dialysis in a nice homey environment with your lovely wife there, ready to fix your blankie and a snack.

Being able to make a plan must have given you a lot of reassurance.  I'm so glad you joined us.  I am not on dialysis yet, but I've made my plan, and I'm going to do home hemo like you, so I'll be coming after you with lots of questions!!

Thanks so much for posting.  I'd love to hear more about your experiences.

Hello Bob and welcome to IHD!   :welcomesign;   I am a caregiver to my hubby who is currently doing home hemo with the NxStage system.  Unlike you, we had no clue that dialysis was in our future until November 2007 and then "BOOM", our world turned upside down.  So, I also have to believe that having a plan and some knowledge was a great thing. 

You (and your lovely wife) have landed in a great place.  You'll find a lot of wonderful people here who can understand just where you've been and what you are living with now. I'm looking forward to seeing your posts and getting to know you and Monica.

Born with autosomal recessive polycystic kidney disease
1995 - AV Fistula placed
Dec 7, 1999 cadaver transplant saved me from childhood dialysis!
10 transplant years = spleenectomy, gall bladder removed, liver biopsy, bone marrow aspiration.
July 27, 2010 Started dialysis for the first time ever.
June 21, 2011 2nd kidney nonrelated living donor
September 2013 Liver Cancer tumor.
October 2013 Ablation of liver tumor.
Now scans every 3 months to watch for new tumors.
Now Status 7 on the wait list for a liver.
How about another decade of solid health?

Hello Bob and welcome to IHD.  I'm so glad you found us.  I'm looking foreward to meeting your wife also.  This site will give you lots more information and the dialysis news articles gives us up to the minute information on anything dialysis.  Karol does a great job.
