New SAK type?

I got a robocall from NxStage yesterday to let me know that a new SAK type was coming. Does anyone know how it will be different? Our training center showed me part of an email a while back, I think it was SAK-030 instead of 002. Does the CU firmware have to be updated ?

I think they said they would also be mailing out info. Just curious if anyone has already gotten the new saks or info.

Quite a few months ago we took part in a "test" of the new Sak types. received 3 cases of Sak's to try out, what I remember of them is that their was no change in the Sak's contents, although I did have to change the Sak type in the Pureflow's software, the Pureflow already has the new "type" in it's list to choose from, the changes were in the lines, most notably the little filter no longer snaps into the small space, instead it is just part of the line leading into it, and they added some of the cardboard pieces to keep the connectors together. no big deal really........

I did get the kit in the mail. The new SAKs are the 3 series. Instead of SAK-002, we will be getting SAK-302 soon. There is an equivalent 3 series SAK to replace all the 0 series ones. Apparently, some users have had problems with crushing the filter behind the door as well as the luer lock pigtail being loose or falling off in shipping (we have!). Has anyone already received these new SAKs?

Got the mail, haven't seen the new SAK yet. 

Yes yes YES with that pigtail.  Mine are almost always loose.  I try to remember to tighten them every time I'm loading a SAK, but once in a while I forget and they almost always leak water onto the top of the SAK.  So when I get down to 10 liters or so remaining, the SAK shifts enough and I get a fluid leak alarm....so I'm bailing the well, drying off the sensor, and continually resetting the cycler until I get the water out.  I've also had caps fall off the chicken foot out of the box - it's getting to the point where it takes me longer to QA the SAK than to load it.

And on the topic of supplies....has anyone been noticing more and more problems with the cartridges lately?  About half the cartridges I open these days have indentations on the lines.  Rectangular, like someone laid a hot screwdriver on them or something.

And I had to have the cycler swapped yesterday.

Is the quality going down, or am I just getting older and crankier?

Ditto! Seen lot of crimped tubing recently especially near the artificial kidney. I can usually squeeze the crimp out and not have problem.  We also seemingly have to do 5-6 pressure pod resets on some cartridges during a treatment.Frustrating indeed but still better than living in-center.

On pressure pod resets, the trick that worked for me, and I mean only having 2-3 resets per year, was to not hook up the line from the pod until after it had gone through it's set-up cycle and I was ready to do her sticks, and making sure that it was into it's fitting really tight before tightening the locking collar......

Lot 0077703 ?  We know that lot number by heart.  Sent a few back and haven't heard from them.
