I have SOOOOO much shopping left to do.  Good thing I'm off Mon-Fri this week.

Peeps I have to shop for:
Joe
my mom
my sister
my brother
my aunt
5 friends
father in law
mother in law and her boyfriend
sister in law x 2
brother in law x 3
niece x 2
my dad and stepmom
my stepbrothers x 2
Joe's neph (he's pretty good to us)

I think that's everyone.

Oh, and I wanted to get a little something for my coworkers (even though they don't deserve it  >:D).

A one stop shopping trip at Walmart will get the few things I need - but it's the baking that I need to get caught up on.  I always do at least 5 kinds of cookies, two kinds of fudge, caramels, and homemade cinnamon rolls and dinner rolls from scratch.  The rolls are the worst - they take at least 12 hours from start to finish.  But it wouldn't be Christmas without them, and I'll never hear the end of it if I don't make them. . .

We were so broke we did not even buy a thing until today. My Mom called and said she knew our situation was bad and gave us some money. We went out tonight and just started shopping to make sure our son at least got some stuff and it was exciting and a BIG RELIEF, Foxy has been losing sleep and worried over this.

As far as baking, I always make Pumpkin Pies for family friends and church associates so I hit the Grocery stores at the last minute :-) !

Don't tell Foxy but she is getting a secret present tomorrow night that has been in the works for months !!

LOL!  Our first Christmas together, we were both unemployed and had ZERO money to buy gifts.  We ended up helping someone sell stuff at a flea market Christmas Eve and they gave us a little money for helping.  We ended up at Walgreens at 11pm on Christmas Eve doing our shopping!  LOL  Needless to say, they weren't necessarily "top notch" gifts.  :D

Next year the shopping starts the day after Christmas! Not two weeks beforehand or two months like this year!  Christmas is bearing down on me like a freight train this year! AAARRRGGGHHH!  Oh well. *sigh*
I like to pick and shop over the year and buy things I know people will like, but with disaster striking us in May, I just have not been up to going out and shopping for other people.  One becomes very egocentric when injury and illness strike close to home.  Next year I hope to shop slowly and carefully.

Life is great!

When I got married in July, I inherited four stepchildren and three step grandchildren, a mother-in-law and several brother-in-laws so my job this year is to add them to my Christmas list and they are all coming to us on Christmas Day.  All of the kids have different mothers and two of the kids want to bring their mothers - my hubby's exes - to Christmas lunch as well.  So now I am also buying for two of my husband's ex-wives.  But all my shopping is done for my family and friends so I still have a few days to cover his family while he is away on a luxury 5-star convention for a week.  Ain't love grand!!!

I went out and bought gifts for all the kids on my list the day after Thanksgiving.  It's the adults on my list that I have trouble with.  Gift Cards sounds like a great solution.

I'd much rather buy something personal, but I don't know what everyone wants or needs.  It seems to get harder to buy for the adults on the list every year.

Yesterday was my last day of school - so now the mad rush to finish shopping.  I stick by my long standing rule; something to wear, something to do (cd, game, dvd) and a book.  It works for my grown kids (6) and grandkids(7).  It is the in-laws and random people I have problems buying for. And baking - haven't even started, but everyone has their favorites and will be dissapointed if we don't have them.   Fruitcake cookies, pumpkin roll, oatmeal raisin cookies, sugar cookies, 2 types of fudge, and of course, buckeyes.  That isn't all - the list is long.  My youngest is living in Hawaii right now, so for the first time in 36 years, I will not have a child in my home Christmas morning. 35 years --I have no idea what empty nesting is all about!!!!

We just celebrated on Saturday with my husband's extended family.
My favorite gift.... a bare root rose bush - named "French Perfume."
Can't wait to see it grow and bloom!

I am grateful. Ten more Dialysis treatments til Jenna's
