We seem to have constant sales here (UK) now.  I remember the Good Old Days when people were up early on Boxing Day for the bargains.  It's not so exciting now that there are bargains to be found throughout the year!

Today I have wrapped up some more presents, and then felt foolish because there's still a month till Christmas.  Went for a long walk, picked up a sick note, posted some Christmas cards to foreign places and felt very relieved when the docs phoned and didn't mention creatinine increases.  It's amazing how happy the smallest things can make you ...

Had a decent session at D. Came home and tried to take a nap but the dog wouldn't let me. There was some target shooting going on nearby and Timo was scared. So I got up and turned on the TV and stretched out on the couch with the dog. When my husband got home, we left for the Christmas parade. It was the 19th one we have been to here.

Did D this am. Turns out they've been doing a test on me, called a blood volume test, to help measure how much fluid to take off. My eyes have been slightly puffy so I guess its a handy dandy tool/gadget, not completely accurate but helpful just the same.

Not really an accomplishment, but today my NHS Blood and Transplant 'specially commissioned silver pin badge in recognition of your [my] kidney donation' came through the letterbox.

Also, we felt comfortable enough to go to the cinema for the first time since the transplant.  Yay!

Going to wrap up my Christmas shopping for all my kids today......Giant Tiger here we come! I love that store!       :rofl;

We went to Giant Tiger when we were in Ottawa last summer.  It was quite the store.  I actually got a bigger kick from the Beer Store that was 2 doors down from our hotel.  It was a concept unfamiliar to me. *L*

No Black Friday here in Canada......our reduced pricing is on Dec. 26 (Boxing Day) I'll likely be avoiding stores then, too!       :rofl;

Our stores aren't open on Boxing Day.  We've only recently been allowed to have stores open on Sundays.  Even then, it's only from 12-5pm

Wow, you are SO lucky.  I long for the days when shops didn't open on a Sunday and people didn't feel pressured into working.  Even my local high street supermarket (not a big one) has recently started staying open till 8pm on a Sunday.  Ridiculous!

Although having said that, I did go for a walk today (we needed some milk; now that Blokey drinks lots of tea and has cereal I really need to change my milk order with the milkman!) and popped into the cheap shop (one of only three that open on a Sunday in my sleepy rural town).  It gave me something to do and a place to walk to.  I didn't stay in it long because the people that run it are really scary.  Really.

 ;D

I cooked Sunday dinner today; meat, roasties, stuffing, yorkshire puddings and veg ... the complete works.  Yummy.  I am completely stuffed now though.

I worked in call centres for years.  The people against sunday shopping kept saying that sunday should be a day for family, but I never got the day off to spend with my family.  I worked every holiday too, including Christmas.  My stance on it was that either everything should be open or everything should be closed, across the board.. so now, everything is open, even if it is even only for 5 hours

I got a 2pm reading of my cat's glucose levels.
My boy-cat Akbah has diabetes.  He was just diagnosed about 2-3 weeks ago (its all a blur), and I've been learning how to be a cat-caregiver.  Its one hell of a learning curve.  Came home twice today, once to give him insulin, then this afternoon to test his glucose.  The vet wants me to find his "lowest" level.  Lowest I've got so far was today:  11.5  Not very low, but better than he was (29.5 at one stage).  Poor old Ak, he's fairly patient about it.  Except today, I think he's "over it".   :(

Yes, I did accomplish something today, I talked my caregiver/wife into joining.  Now you can check all of my BS.  Don't be surprised if it turns out to be true.  One more thing, she has an entirley different perspective on these things.  I can't wait to read what she says.

Oh galvo, you poor thing! Hope you're all right.

We have a computer virus that really started to take things apart yesterday. We are in the process of de-infecting the computer right now but it's been a bit of a nightmare. It's all gone pants as a character said on an episode of Peep Show that we watched last night. (don't know why that made me laugh so hard, but it did, and now I'm looking for an excuse to use it. Excuses don't come much better than a computer worm that has taken over all your files....)

The gas company installed lines by digging up our street weeks ago, leaving a huge hole in the concrete in front of our drive for ages. This morning they came to fill it up. Of course, Gwyn waits for them to leave and then races out to inscribe our kids' names in the cement. I figure they owe us this much for inconveniencing us for so long. ;D

Whoa!

I walked to the shop and spent some money.  But I forgot my milk and felt too foolish to return to the original shop, so while my butternut squash was roasting I walked to another shop a little further away to buy a pint.  Then I wrapped some pressies.  Oh, and I signed off one benefit and onto another. Busy day! (for me.)

I went to a Christmas parade today.  I haven't looked through the pictures yet.  When we got there, one of the dialysis nurses was across the street.  This one has been on maternity leave since the beginning of October, I think, so I crossed the street just to see the new baby. *G*

Yesterday we got stuck behind Father Christmas as we walked into town to see the turning on of the lights.  Grrr.  Bah, Humbug!

Today we managed to sleep till Naughty O'Clock and then went to the cinema.

Neither are really much of an accomplishment though ...
