Yesterday I had an interview for a position I really wanted.  My Mumsy drove me twenty miles to get there and I had the longest walk I've had since the op.  Thankfully I was dosed up on Tramadol so the pain was minimal.  I thought the interview went really badly, but this morning I had a phone call offering me the job.

Huzzah!

I start after Christmas (my choice - I've been signed off till December anyway and I didn't think it was worth starting a new position with only two weeks (it's in an educational establishment) to go till the Christmas hols.)

I'm very proud of myself because I haven't had an interview since 2004 (which was for my last job, ending in August this year) and I HATE interviews as I'm completely socially-inept.

I wrote another nearly 3000 words on my Nanowrimo novel today.  I've hit the day 3 target even though I did no writing at all yesterday.  I'm having a lot of fun with it so far.

Going to get out and enjoy the sun today. I'm tired of being cooped up inside. Today I feel the energy busting so my time to get much done, meet a friend for lunch and then get some more Christmas shopping in this afternoon!       I'm being smarter/wiser this year.....over the next 6 weeks we're budgeting so much out our income so its not all one big lump sum of gifts to buy at once out of one paycheque spending a lot of money....a few days ago My husband won $100 in gift cards for Wal-mart, which will help also!

I fear packing up this place.  My mom has lived here since 1992, and I know there's stuff still in boxes from when we moved in.  We're definitely going to have to downsize if we're going to move into an apartment.

I went to the Kidney Foundation's Bowl for Research, to be their photographer, and I was really disappointed with the turnout.  There were only a few teams, barely twenty people overall, including volunteers like me, who just showed up.

All I have accomplished is a few loads of laundry.....but I've had fun, and gone out to lunch with friends. Oh, I forgot....walked a mile.

Saw a movie with a friend ("In Tme") and had a salad at Friday's.  Made the trek to meet him,  which was about 40 miles round trip.  Big  accomplishment with my driving anxiety (weird how the drive there was fine,  but I had the anxiety driving home ....maybe it's more driving in the dark.  Still not sure,  but it's kind of frustrating)

Yesterday I ran errands... grocery shopping, some Walmart time and then came home and did some clean up time in my messy bedroom.

Now if I can just get off my butt now and do my 1 1/2 mile walk tonight .... it will have been a full, complete weekend.

I worked out my little cat is sick.  She's the one on the left.  She has urinary tract infection, poor thing.  I've got her booked into the vet tomorrow;  when I called frantically at 7:30pm he'd just got home.   She has blood in her wee.  I think it will be  long night for her but tomorrow she'll get a shot and then it will all be good, I hope. Jim and I figured out that we CANNOT both pack. We did nothing but fight. We came to an agreement though. He goes to the old place and packs while I stay at the new place and unpack. Seems to be working for us.

Awww, cheers duck!  And I really hope so ... I have a couple of awesome things I'd like myself and Blokey to accomplish before Our Kidney decides it's done enough! And thank you to everybody else for the Yay! factor too.  I'm still waiting for my contract to arrive in the post though ... ho-hum.

Nat, so sorry for your little pussy-cat.  Give her squillions of gentle little cuddles from me.  Hope she gets well soon.

My accomplishment for today was the loop around town which took in the supermarket (for bread) and the pharmacy (for a bag FULL of Blokey's meds).  It's about a mile and I went alone, so I'm quite chuffed with myself and - as an added bonus - I have NO PAIN!!! today! *touch wood*  I really don't understand how people can go back to work so quickly after major operations ... they're bonkers!

I had a long phone call from my kidney sister - we share a donor. She is younger than me and not bouncing back as well after the transplant which makes me a bit sad. Still, she managed a week away and enjoyed herself. She suffers badly from the shakes and I wish her doctors would swap her on to something else, particularly as my shakes have disappeared with a drug change. Despite the fact she is struggling, it makes my heart sing to hear her voice and know she is okay.

I got the car re-registered, bought a Christmas present, planned, and will to-morrow purchase, my Christmas dinner, researched the purchase of a new mobile phone, got my computer going again after kicking the connections loose, and have commenced crying and sneezing with late onset hay fever. Apart from that, a pretty quiet day so far.

Full day of work, got my 1 1/2 walk in, scheduled an appointment, ran an errand and caught up with four friends tonight on the phone !  Whew.

Got my mid-term back in my Advanced Litigation class.  Missed 1.5 points out of 100.  However, the prof was so pleased that I properly cited all the court rules even when they weren't specifically requested and gave expanded answers above and beyond what the question required that he gave me 5 pts extra credit.  So I got 103.5%.  With my other extra credit, I'm getting 106.7% in the class right now. Guess I can lay off the extra credit for a bit!
