Scheduled two important appointments with the Career Services group at school, to prepare for my internship and practice for my upcoming interview.

Caught up on all the sleep I missed this week - this may be the most important accomplishment, even if it means I slept through half the afternoon.

Yesterday evening, when I was too tired to focus after a morning spent at the courthouse and then running errands and getting all my shopping done, I didn't flop in a chair and read book.  I dug everything out of the fridge and made enough meals to freeze and have ready for the next two weeks.  Soup, chili, stuffed biscuits, taco fixings...I'm prepared!

 :rofl;   Cebushan

So I went to D, this am, realized while I was going thru my wallet while sitting in the chair that I must have left my debit card at a restaurant I ate at lastnight, it was not in my wallet    :oops;    I was so upset, sitting in the chair, I was panic-stricken that someone may have stole it. I had paid for the dinner with my card but then I figured I must have forgotten it in the  debit machine.

Anyways, to make a long story short, had to call home on my cell to get my husband to look up the phone number for the restaurant to see if it was there, he couldn't find the number in the phone book or online so I asked one of the nurse's for a local phone book, thank goodness they had one. Anyways, to make a long story short, I managed to find the number, called, and a manager said it was there, I was SO grateful that they held it for me, talk about a scare, I was SO relieved to retrieve it!     :2thumbsup;

Scary part of it was the fact that when I described the card in detail, the woman said, "Oh hon, we have a lot of cards that are that color," LOL I was like, WTF? Guess nobody calls when their card goes missing. Either that or they can't remember where they lost it. Thankfully, I knew it was the last place I had visited and used mine before I had gone to use it again somewhere else and had more time that lapsed between the time I lost it to the time I picked it up.

It just made my day that someone went out on a limb for me, there are good people in this world!    :)

I also had a short nap this afternoon (my most fav part of D day    :rofl;   ) and then I started my Christmas shopping today after I got up.....

And, tonight, I'm going to watch a horror movie, I love horror movies esp at this time of year!    :thumbup;

I have finished my 19 page, 78 multi-part question take-home midterm exam for Advanced Litigation!   :bandance; :bandance; :bandance; :bandance;
I spent about 4 hours working on it Friday night, and, minus breaks, another 12 or so that started on Saturday afternoon and continued on until almost 2:30 this morning.  Auuugh!  But at least I don't have to look at the darn thing when I wake up on Sunday morning, no matter how little sleep I get.

Instead, I get to do more homework.... :P

Well had a busy few days. Worked till midnight on Friday due to some power works being done which caused some issues(as always!) and have to repeat again next week because it wasn't all finished ugh. Then again Sat morning for a few hours to fix a problem from the night before. Then a successful afternoon on the races was good. Today I went out in the warmth and walked 16km's (10 miles) in 3 hours which was pretty good (yes I drank a lot!). It was good to get out and about.....

I'm playing taxi Mom today. Parties galore to take the kids to.  One has a halloween party, the other two have a birthday party to go to. I will try to squeeze a little "me" time in between pick up times......likely some shopping    ;D

Meh ..... I'm not feeling "quite myself" today ..... funny, the difference a day makes.  Anywhooooo .......I did run an errand, changed the bandage on my fistula and did my 1.5 mile walk.  It's 6PM now and I'm hoping to still get a load of laundry done,  write a few short letters to some folks and then take a nice, long bath.  Somehow,  that's enough for today .....

My husband & I and the dog did the Gift of Life Walk yesterday. I was only able to do 1 1/2 miles instead of the full 3 miles but I thought that was pretty good after spending 2 days in the hospital. I wish I knew how to upload photos because I got a really cute one of the dog in his costume. Today I went to Church, did some grocery shopping, and started doing some packing.

Excellent news, Richard. Keep it up and you'll pay off that wedding and divorce in no time! :rofl;

I took my fourth biostats online quiz. The prof makes these pretty easy - no trick questions - so I got 100%. I am now doing reading for my Tuesday classes and generally trying to keep ahead of all of my upcoming tests and papers.

*giggle* Cariad so funny! Yeah it's so expensive!! I mean that Vegas wedding was a whole $64, not counting what the cabbie charged us to stay and be witness (the bastard had no romance in his heart - he left the meter running during the ceremony!!) and then of course we had to split our posessions from the wedding and all... need a few more good results at the track I think to pay that off.

On the other hand if I send her a box of tim tams we might be able to settle things another way :)

Yes, Richard, and now that there is no chance of sun and warm weather, those Tim Tams won't melt in my mail box!!! Yay!!!

I thought I'd add what I did this past Friday to this thread.

I left home for work at 6am, worked until 3pm. Ran a few errands after work, than picked up my friend to go to Seattle and see Journey/Foreigner/Night Ranger in concert!  We had dinner at Dick's Drive In (although this location is the only sit-down one in the chain, so I and my friends like to affectionately call it "Richard's") then parked the car in an over-priced parking garage and went to the concert. It was a great show!  started at 7pm, lasted til almost 11, I believe.  Drove back home after waiting for the garage to clear out (once rock concert and one ballet got out at the same time), stopped at Taco Bell for a late night soft taco snack, then drove my friend home, then myself home and got home just before 1am.  Whew!!!  Was very happy to sleep in on Saturday!

My day was going not too bad until I just phoned my family doctor's office this afternoon and found out that one of my twin daughters has "small renal cysts"

......That's what the receptionist told me on the phone. She and her twin sister had an ultrasound about 2 weeks ago to rule out polycystic kidney disease and I have a very sinky feeling she has inherited the gene from  me.

I am in a state of shock right now even though I knew the chances of one of my kids getting it was very possible. Even though you know the risk is there, I still feel in shock. I had a damn good cry after I got off the phone.

I have booked an appointment with my GP for this Thursday to talk to him about it and I want to really stress to him that I want her to start seeing a nephrologist. I am scared out of my wits!!!!!

I went in for what I thought was going to be a fistulagram to try to fix my fistula. Turns out, they accidentally scheduled me for the same thing they did 2 weeks ago! At least they discovered it before they prepped me? When I asked he they where doing anything today and found out no, I asked for a cup of coffee. the surgeon brought me some himself! Lol! So what they need to do now is a different procedure that is more invasive. Now I wait...

Cordellia, our eldest daughter was first ultrasounded at age 2 because of a totally unrelated illness and had one cyst. My neph at the time said these can occur as a result of severe illness. She is 30 now, has had no kidney related problems and a 2nd ultrasound at age 20 was clear. She has been recommended to have one every ten years just to be cautious. 2nd daughter also clear at age 20 but will test every 10 years too.
 Crossing fingers for you and yours.
On the accomplishment subject, I managed to lodge our quarterly goods and services tax report today!!!! This is exciting because last quarter I decided it was all too hard and we'd have to pay someone to do it. And it was so easy this time.
Amazing what better health and time at home can achieve!

Yes, Karen, hold out for the Tim Tams! Those things were way too delicious for a boxed cookie. What sort of secret Aussie magic pixie dust is in those, anyhow?!

Classes this morning, but I was not in a mood to say much in anthro, and biostats is just a lecture, no discussion. We are finally learning material that is new to me.

Dropped by the Children's Center to see the clothing exchange. Nothing there that we could use, but it was nice to see how much stuff had been donated to hopefully help out other parents. I did not see any of our donated items, so can only assume those have gone to a good home.

Gwyn and I argued much of the afternoon. We disagree on how to handle an issue with Aidan and it turned heated. Aidan was crying this morning and then this afternoon he was absolutely fine and able to discuss it calmly. Kids are mercurial creatures. I still manage to read a long, dense chapter on Public Health and formulate 2 discussion questions to email to the prof before the 5PM deadline.

Collected the kids so that Gwyn could have his phone interview. Went to Whole Foods and ran into the mother of Liot's best friend and the father of one of Aidan's best friends. Grabbed pizza and fresh fruit and dinner was sorted. About to grab a glass of wine and do more school research.

I've scheduled everything perfectly this week - except enough time to sleep.  It's Tuesday, and I haven't even accomplished reading the Sunday paper - it's still in the plastic bag!

I finished another presentation on Monday night.   :bandance; :bandance;  This one was for extra credit, which I may need after handing in the 19 page exam that took me 16 hours to finish this weekend.  Well, maybe not, since I thought it was easy, just time consuming, and plenty of my classmates had problems even finding answers to some of the questions.  At any rate, I currently have a 105% in the class.

Had my Grand Day Out with my nephew today.  Laser show at the planetarium after dinner out at Ritz Coney.  Managed to schedule plans for our days for November and December too.  Bought tickets to Tran-Siberian Orchestra for December.  Yay!  I've never seen them live - I can't wait.

Had a mandatory luncheon seminar for my internship today.  Checked a box off on list of things to do for that.  Next...

Edited my resume and with tips from Career Services, now have a clear copy all one page.  Did a mock interview on Monday with Career services, too.  Picked out an interview outfit (and sorted a lot of uncomfortable clothes out of my closet) so I'm as ready as I'm gonna be for my interview on Friday.

Had an interesting morning. Went to psychological anthro. Some days I am just so proud of myself for speaking in that class - the prof is great, but when you say something that does not catch his fancy, whoa can he (inadvertently, I assume) make you feel like an idiot. The woman whose paper I critiqued emailed me yesterday because she missed class and asked if I could let her know what they talked about. I wrote her back a brief two paragraphs (considering I was summarizing 75 minutes of discussion) and she thanked me profusely and asked me if she could buy me a tea or coffee for next class. I said that wasn't necessary, but was concerned I would hurt her feelings so told her that I love a hot tea. We'll see if she remembers - I thought it was lovely of her to offer.

We talked on the way out. She got a 27/30 for the paper that I critiqued (I tried to give her a crash course in writing for this prof, because her first draft was not going to win her any accolades - she must be a quick study because that prof is such a hard grader. He wrote glowing comments all over my paper, then gave me a 28/30 :waiting;) Anyhow, she's an anthropology undergrad, but what's more, she is interning with the woman that I used to work with in town. I asked how she liked her, and she froze with that sort of is-this-a-trap face and gave a non-committal She's nice! I like her!. I told her this woman is NUTS and to not ever mention my name to her because we had a massive falling out and she will likely go off on you if she thinks you're giving me the time of day. I had the advantage of working with four other people back then, so I knew that it was not just me, this woman takes all of her stress and frustration out on the people around her. So, in the end I said "I don't want to scare you, but if she does ever lose it with you, just know that it's her, not you. Let me know if it happens, I'll be happy to listen." She seemed happy to hear that offer.
