i didnt even know this site even existed untill today
the secartary at davita dialysis told me and i thought it was so funny
i any how my name is Bonnie
and im 46yrs old mother of 2 and grandmother of 3
and i have had probelm with my kidneys for 27yrs,
they actually think longer
and i have been on dialyis now for a little over 5yrs

i had a heart valve replacement 5yrs ago
as where i found out it was a birth defect that
doesnt show up untill your early 40s(nice to know)
at that time before my surgery
i had learned i also had a birthdefect
 called lawerence beild syndrom
which it effects each person in the
different way
but it does cause issue with the kidneys

my son is my youngest hes 23yrs old
and he had some health issue when he was a baby
when he was about 3yrs old
the hospitol in portland sent his studies to london
as to find out his chromazones were rare
they off by 2 and 3 of having ms but he doesnt have that
they didnt say anything else about his disabilty
untill i was going in for my heart valve surgery
is when we had learned he also has the same birthdefect
 that i have

the chromazones crossed when i got pregnant with my daughter
so she doesnt have any issue and far as i know neither do my grandkids
i have spoken to her a few times to have them tested but she hasent.

any how with my son
 a little over 2yrs ago
he had been sick a week before xmas
and a few days after my mom had taken him to
the docs and they had him admited in the hospitol
 for he phemonia
he was rushed in icu where he went in cardic arresr
not only did he have phemounia, but issue with his
heart lungs and only kidney
a few yrs prior we had found out he only had one kidney
he is now on dialysis as well
he has his days but hes doing good...

You AND your son, BOTH on D?  Oh man, that's not a fun thing to have in common!

Hi you and your family have really been through some tough times.

Kidney failure is hard on you but then to see your son go through it as well must be a nightmare. My thoughts are with you
